Chapter 20 - Visitor from the nether realm

Morian smiled.

The man spoke; "I am your chef tonight, anything you would like Monsieur et mademoiselle?" He gave Delilah and Morian a menu.

"Oh, French food, so yummy," Delilah said as she flipped through the menu.

They made their choice after perusing the menu, and the chef and his assistant served them before departing.

They ate some more and talked some more.

"This has been a wild night, Morian." But I need to get home quickly because I have school early tomorrow."

"I understand, as much as I'd like to keep you for much longer. I will escort you downstairs and have the driver take you home." Morian got up and took her hand and escorted her out of the rooftop. Once they arrived outside Delilah turned to him.

"It's been a magical night with you Morian."

"Same here Delilah, text me when you get home. See you soon."

He opened the door for her and stood there watching her amble in. He caught a glimpse of the strange symbols on her back as she turned to get in the car. This surprised him greatly; he took a step back and watched the car drive away.

"That's impossible," whispered Morian to himself.

Next morning

Delilah awoke the next morning with a sense of euphoria. She had been walking on sunshine the night before with Morian. He was all she could think about while brushing her teeth and showering. She was also excited to spend time with her parents and reconnect with her family. Her phone rang, and she got out of bed to retrieve it. It was Kim, she was immediately overcome with guilt. She hesitated then eventually picked up after the third ring.

"Hi baby," said Delilah

"Good morning my love, I called last night but since you didn't reply, I assumed you girls were swept up in whatever juicy gossip you were having. How was your night?"

"Uhm it was ok, to be honest, I fell asleep early. Exhausted from all the wine and gossip, how was yours?"

"It was fun but I would have rather spent it with my favorite girl."

"Same here love, see you when I return?"

"Yes, baby." The call ended.

Delilah was overcome with guilt; she attempted to justify her actions, but she knew she was wrong. But she was smitten by Morian and wanted to keep seeing him. She knew lying to Kim was wrong, but it was a risk she was willing to take.

While she was in her room, she heard a knock on the door and went to check. When she opened the door, she saw a man holding a bouquet of flowers.

"Good morning, ma'am, I have flowers for Delilah."

"Yes, that's me."

"Here you go," said the delivery guy as he handed it to her."

"Delilah placed the flowers on her center table and opened the card to read it.

"Your existence has put my previous lovers to shame, this fire you've ignited in me is powerful enough to burn down the entire world and beautiful enough to keep us warm. With this much desire even the stars envy us. I have searched for warmth in the bitter-cold world. And in your eyes a love that excites my soul. Enjoy your trip, my love signed Kim Dae-Jung"

Delilah's heart dropped; that was the most beautiful thing she'd ever read.  She smelled the flowers and picked them up; they were lovely, lilies. Kim was an incredible lover who showered her with love and affection at every opportunity. Her mind was suddenly invaded by memories of the previous night with Morian.

"What exactly am I doing?" She was consumed by her thoughts for a split second before putting them aside and retrieving her luggage before departing for the airport.

Doctor Morian was at the hospital, where he had spent the majority of the day treating patients with minor illnesses and injuries. He eventually went back to his office for a lunch break. While he was relaxing, he heard a knock on his door.

"Yes, come in."

"Sorry to bother you doctor, but your presence is required urgently." Said a female nurse.

"What's the matter?"

"A patient was brought in, with his limbs missing, and he says he was attacked by a monster."

"A monster? Like a serial killer?"

"No doctor, like a man-eating actual monster, the thing he described and the wounds he suffered could not possibly be inflicted by a human being."

"Ok take me to him," said Morian as he got up and left with the nurse.

When Morian arrived at the ICU, he was astounded by what he saw. The patient's limbs were severed, and he was surrounded by nurses and doctors who were attempting to save his life.

"The gates of hell have opened, and all the monsters have arrived," the man screamed. The nurses and doctors tried everything they could to save him, but he had lost too much blood and died as a result. Morian stood there watching as a reaper appeared, carried the man's spirit, and vanished. Reapers were entities that guided everyone who died into the afterlife.
