Chapter 19 - I will win your heart

Morian couldn't take his eyes away from her; he couldn't believe she was with him. The one thing he desired.

Delilah felt as if he saw through her, saw her soul, with his penetrating, piercing gaze.

"There are no words to describe how beautiful you are; I fear I will fail to describe how magnificent you are."

"I had no idea you were a poet, Morian." She laughed.

"Please forgive me, beautiful one, for I do not mean to flatter you with empty words; everything I say comes from the bottom of my heart."

Delilah sensed just how intense and sensitive he was. "I can tell you put so much effort into this," she said after taking a deep breath.

"For you, nothing short of perfection was employed. It pleases you, yes?"

"I'm blown away, and this view of the crescent city is magnificent."

"Good," said Morian as he reached for the bottle of wine and opened it. He filled their glasses and they took a sip.

"Tell me little dove, what excites your heart and makes you happy? I want to learn everything about you."

Delilah smiled, there was this confidence and sexiness about Morian. The way he carried himself, the way he talked. He exuded the air of importance that only a king could.

"That's a good question, to be honest with you Morian. I don't know what excites me, most of my life has been spent trying to please others. I find sometimes I'm nothing more than the desires of other people, my parents, in particular."

Morian watched her and listened as she spoke. Attentive to every word that came from her lips.

He reached for her hand on the table.

"Little dove, a being as special as you deserves the world to be laid at your feet."

He got up, held her hands, helping her to her feet. As though under a spell she followed.

She was face to face with him. The doors opened, and men in finery poured onto the rooftop, carrying various musical instruments. Delilah couldn't believe her eyes when they started playing, and she blushed flustered by this unexpected turn of events.

"Dance with me?"

Delilah complied, and he drew her closer to his body, enveloped in each other's scent. She looked up into his eyes, and he gazed into hers. They waltz around the rooftop, with the stars shining above them and the candles glowing brightly.

They didn't say anything, only danced for what seemed like an eternity until the music stopped and the band left. When they were alone again, he led her back to the table and sat. Delilah was breathless.

"You are an incredible dancer," said Morian.

"You flatter me, I have two left feet."

Morian laughed; "Good thing it isn't your dance skills that draw me to you."

"Tell me, what is it that draws you to me?" Delilah took a sip from her wine glass awaiting his answer.

"Your soul." Morian gazed into her eyes.

"Wow, and what about my soul?"

"I don't know how to explain it Delilah, but I feel like I've known you forever."

Delilah was kind of shocked to hear him say that because she felt the exact same. Delilah cleared her throat.

"Very interesting."

"Tell me, does that make you uncomfortable that I am so blunt about my intentions?"

"No, I appreciate honesty, I'd say it's the most important thing to me. But what exactly is it that you desire Morian?"

"I thought that was already clear Delilah, I desire you. I want to know you in every way. I want to be intimate with you, not just physically, but spiritually and emotionally."

"Wow, I don't know what to say Morian. This is quite a lot to take, plus you don't even know me."

"I understand, and please know that with your permission I'd love to begin to court you."

"Oh my, I am absolutely speechless Morian."

He reached for her hand and held it across the table.

"There is no pressure little dove, I understand you need time to think this over."

"Morian, you are aware that I am currently in a relationship with Kim Dae-Jung."

"I know, but I also know if he had your heart 100 percent you wouldn't have accepted my offer to come here tonight. A woman like you isn't one so easily won by any man and I am up for the challenge of proving to you why I deserve to be the man of your life. Trust me no other man's interest in you intimidates me."

Morian exuded such masculine confidence that other men paled in comparison, leaving Delilah speechless. He was incredible; just being near him awakened all her senses and sent shivers down her spine. He was electrifying, and Delilah was both scared and intrigued by the doctor. His eyes were piercing and intense, unlike any other man she had met or dated. Delilah loved how he used his eyes to undress her. Being desired by him made her feel alive, and the passion in his eyes drove her insane. She wanted to be sampled like a dessert by Morian.  As these thoughts flooded her mind, she cleared her throat.

He clapped his hands, and the doors reopened. A man and a woman pushed a cart loaded with food.

"Wow," Delilah exclaimed.
