Chereads / Rewriting Her Life / Chapter 3 - Last day

Chapter 3 - Last day

We wake up at 9 am in the morning. Ugh, my head hurts. Blake got drunk last night and confessed his feelings to Katy, but we know he likes Jane. Hahahaha.

We started cleaning the mess that we made last night. After that, Blake suggested we play a game on the beach. We played volleyball, tug of war, snorkeling, and tried a jet ski.

I went under the coconut tree to take a rest but didn't know that Gray followed me. We sat down together and watched our friends play.

We were both silent for a minute, and then Gray suddenly spoke.

"It's nice that we are able to hang out together despite being busy with school," he said.

"Yeah, it's all thanks to Katy," I said, and then we became silent again.

"Do you know that we are having a masquerade ball in 1 month?" he asked.

"Yeah, but I'm still deciding whether to attend or not. Besides, it will cost a lot for the gown, food, and venue fees," I said.

"Ohh, I can help you. You know my sister is a designer. She will insist on helping you get a gown, and as for the fees, I'm sure our friends will help with the money," he said.

"Oh no, thanks. I don't want people to think that I befriend you all for money, and especially, I'm not a fan of parties. I'd rather work to earn money," I said, and I saw our friends walking towards us.

"Well, if you change your mind, just talk to me, and I'll be your date," he said to me.

"What are you two talking about?" Blake said, teasing us.

"Oh, just discussing our secret plans for world domination, right, Gray?" I said and playfully nudged gray

Gray smirked and played along. "Absolutely, It's all part of our master plan."

Blake laughed and shook his head. "You two and your secrets. Well, if you need a trustworthy sidekick, you know where to find me."

"Me too, if you want a pretty sidekick to seduce your opponent, find me," Jane played along.

"Duh, I'm the prettiest here. You're the second, so you should find me, guys," Phoebe said, and they started arguing about who's the prettiest.

"Duh, Katy's the prettiest here," Blake said, which made Katy blush.

"Yeah, she's the prettiest here," I said, patting Katy's head.

It's almost 5 pm. We should set up a bonfire," Gray's suggestion of setting up a bonfire gained unanimous approval. As the sun began to set, the group gathered wood, lit the fire, and positioned themselves around its warm glow. Gray picked up his guitar and started strumming a familiar tune, filling the air with melodic notes.

Enchanted by the music, everyone joined in, their voices blending harmoniously under the starlit sky. The crackling bonfire, the laughter, and the shared melodies created an atmosphere of camaraderie and joy.

But I keep my eyes on Kat wherever she goes; I follow her, and right now, she wants to go to the toilet.

"I'll go with you, Kat," I said.

"No need, Em. Just enjoy yourself here," she replied.

"No, I insist," I said, and we went to the bathroom.

As Kat finished peeing, she asked me why I had been acting weird since yesterday.

"You know, Em, why have you been acting weird? It's like something bad is going to happen to me, and I'll die," she said.

"Nothing, I just want to cling to my best friend," I laughed awkwardly.

"Oh, Em," she hugged me, "even if I die, you'll still be my best friend, and I'll be your guardian angel." Hearing that, my eyes welled up with tears.

I lightly pulled her hair. "Don't joke like that," I said.

"Hahaha, whatever, Em," she said, and we went back. As we were walking towards the others, I saw some liquor. I thought I had thrown those things away. Yesterday, I threw them in the sink and put the bottle in the trash.

"Who bought this?" I asked.

"Oh, Blake. Our liquor that we bought here disappeared, so Blake bought some from the nearby convenience store," Jane said.

I started taking the liquor out of their hands and threw them into the sea.

"What the hell, Em?" Blake said angrily and grabbed my hands.

"What's your problem?" he asked.

"Just don't drink liquor, at least for tonight," I said, crying.

"Get your hands off Blake," Gray said.

"What!? You're siding with this bitch?" Blake exclaimed.

Hearing that, Gray punched Blake in the face, and they started fighting.

The girls stop them

" Stop it you two" Jane said

" Fuck we were having fun and now" phoebe said

" Stop it! I know it's my fault but just don't drink tonight" I beg kneeling infornt of them.

Gray and Blake stop fighting "Tsk" Blake said and go inside the hotel

While Gray is heading to the cottage, it's just the girls remaining.

Katy ask, "Are you alright?"

"Yeah, I'm exhausted. Can we simply sleep?" I replied.

"Sure," Katy agreed.

"I have a favor to ask. Can we sleep together?" I requested from them.

They all agreed and headed to the hotel. As we settled down on the bed, Phoebe suddenly spoke, "I understand that you had your reasons for what you did, but you're at fault and you need to apologize to Gray and Blake. Similarly, Blake should apologize to you."

"I know, I'm sorry, guys. It's our last day here, and I ruined it," I said.

"It's okay, Em. We can celebrate your birthday here in two months," Kat said.

"Hey, guys, remember when we became closer and became best friends? It's been three years since I got close to you," Jane said.

"Yeah, I remember that. We enjoyed every moment of our high school life," Kat said.

"Yeah, it's our last year in high school, so we should have fun before we enter college," I said.

They all agreed because they knew that entering college meant taking our own paths.

"What courses are you guys interested in?" Jane asked.

"I think I'm going to take a business course. I want to help my father manage our business," Kat said.

"I love fashion and jewelry, so I'm going to pursue something related to fashion design," Phoebe said.

"I want to study an arts-related course," Jane said.

"What about you, Emily?" Kat asked.

"Hmm, I want to study culinary arts and build my own restaurant," I said, even though I knew it would forever remain a dream that wouldn't turn into reality.

"Wow, I hope we all succeed in the future," Phoebe said.

"Yeah, don't forget about us, guys," I said.

"Of course not. You all are the best thing that has happened to my life," Jane said.

"It's time to sleep. The driver will be here early to pick us up," Kat said.

"Goodnight."

"Night."

As we were about to sleep, Phoebe suddenly spoke.

"Hey, do you remember the first day of class? My first impression of you, Jane, was that you were flirty, and guess what? It turned out to be true," Phoebe said, and we started laughing.

"Yeah, well, my first impression of you was that you were stupid, and guess what? It turned out to be true," we laughed, and they started arguing.

While Kat and I slept...
