The following morning, I woke up in an unfamiliar place.
I shot up from the bed in a state of panic but then remembered that I had slept in Donellan's room for the remainder of the night.
My body relaxed after that.
It felt weird not being woken by someone else.
Everything was peaceful and quiet. As I sat there in bed, my mind began to wander.
I thought up the dream I had and what it meant. Since I knew that this was important and didn't want to risk forgetting, I got out of bed and made my way to Donellan's desk.
I found some paper and a pen and started writing down what I saw. I made sure to include the woman and the man with the scar.
I felt like these details were important.
I then folded the paper, left Donellan's room and made my way to my own room. When I entered, I saw that Noor was making my bed, she turned and smiled at me.
"Good morning young master." I told her good morning as well.
She told me that she'd help me bathe and get dressed for breakfast.
When I asked her where Donellan might be, she stated that he usually has training early in the morning with the other knights.
She did say that he would be joining me for breakfast soon.
After getting dressed in more formal attire, I wondered if we had plans to go out today and Donellan confirmed my thoughts while at the dining table.
"Since we'll be staying here for 5 more days, I thought it'd be nice to visit some places. We will be leaving after breakfast." He said simply.
I smiled and nodded my head in response.
This could serve as a form of distraction for me as well I thought to myself.
As Donellan stated, we left right after breakfast and rode in a carriage downtown.
We made a couple little stops here and there since Donellan needed various supplies and then made our way to the more touristy side of the capital.
The whole city was buzzing with laughter and the ambiance was great even in the early afternoon.
Finally we made our way to the grand bookstore that was infamous for its variety of selections. In there, there was something for everyone. I was very excited and everyone around us could tell. This time, both Lenard and Laetitia were present as well as Serya and another knight named Germaine.
We had met earlier this morning since he had been absent the day I met the other knights. Germaine was a tall and well built man with beautiful brown skin and piercing green eyes.
He looked a little intimidating at first but he was actually very kind. In our first meeting he had already tried to familiarize himself with me and even picked me in his arms. He told me I reminded him a lot of his younger brother who was close to my age and that he would bring him over if he ever had the chance.
I liked Germaine a lot because he wore his heart on his sleeves and you could tell immediately how he was feeling unlike everyone else here. Since Serya and Germaine had other matters to attend to and Donellan had a quick appointment with someone, he left me with Lenard and Laetitia for the moment.
The three of us entered the bookstore and I was in awe.
This place really was heaven on earth. Lenard couldn't help but laugh at my reaction but I decided not to pay him any mind since I didn't want to ruin this experience. There was someone at the counter who greeted us with a smile and explained the shop's functions.
This wasn't an ordinary bookstore but an enchanted one. Whatever book you were looking for, all you had to do was think it, and it would appear before you.
Of course the mechanics behind it all wasn't as simple as I am making it out to be.
You have to a little specific in what you are looking for. And of course, if you couldn't think up a book, then all you had to do was look for it. I found this beyond fascinating and was eager to test it out.
The worker noticed my excitement and couldn't help but laugh.
She told me if I ever needed any help at all, I could push the button at the end of each section and someone would be there to help. I thanked her and made my way to the section I was looking for.
Since Laetitia and Lenard didn't seem too interested in the books, they decided to wait for me by the entrance.
Laetitia gave me a bracelet that had a sort of trigger that could be activated in case I needed help as well. I smiled at her and left.
I made it to my destination, stood there and thought of fantasy books that might have a fantasy as a genre and immediately after that dozens of fantasy novels with different sub genre's appeared before me.
I looked through the options and picked two that caught my attention the most. Once I was done picking my books, after 5 seconds the books went up and disappeared into thin air. I couldn't help but open my mouth in shock.
Seriously, this world really is something else.
Still in a daze, I turned around to leave since I didn't want to keep the two waiting for too long and I suddenly bumped into something. Or more like someone.
I was prepared to apologize when I heard a voice I really didn't want to hear at that moment.
"Ugh watch where you're going."
