Kane barely had enough time to react and put his spear in front of himself. Somehow, he instinctively threw the torch away because they couldn't risk losing their only source of light. The torch fell on a bush, and it started to burn, but that was a problem. Kane would have to worry about later because he felt his spear hitting his head.
"Ouch…"
He had failed to block the attack with a single arm, but his spear was still intact, and his head only suffered a scratch. More important than that, Kane managed to block the water jet that had been fired at him.
"It is an opponent that can use ranged attacks!" Jacob said, surprised. "What should we do?"
"The monster only attacked once, so it doesn't have much mana," Kane explained. "I'm pretty sure it is an evolved green snake or a variation of it. I will attack, but if the creature stops me… Ouch! Then you two will deal the finishing blow."
"Roger," Emma nodded.
