In the end, everyone agreed to stay at the place where they fought the blue snake. Moving at night was much more tiresome because it was impossible to know when an opponent would appear.

After making a campfire nearby a group of trees, Kane, Emma, and Jacob sat on the ground and relaxed their backs against the trees. Although they wanted to sleep, no one would be able to do so. None of them had the nerve to sleep in a place that they hadn't secured yet, not even Kane.

"This is actually the first time that I managed to stop and rest during the night," Jacob said. "When I was a slime, I didn't stop moving, not even after hours without seeing something moving."

"Let me guess. You died of hunger and thirst due to it," Emma said. "What a fool. Instead of running away, you should have killed those who tried to kill you."

"Did that work for you?" Jacob asked.

"… Not exactly," Emma replied. "But, at least I only died once as a slime."
