Although the enemy was basically a kid who wasn't supposed to be older than fourteen, Kane immediately recognized the danger to his life. The spear was quite sharp, and the owner of that weapon was a tall and large boy who had the body of someone who liked to enjoy half of their day in the gyms.
"Pori, pori… (Oh, shit… Oh, shit…)
Kane tried to use human language, but a weird sound came out of his mind. Thanks to that, the kind frowned while looking at him. Although that was weird, Kane and he wanted to know what the hell was Pori. He didn't have time to think about whatever the hell he said or if that kid understood him. He just thought of getting the hell out of there.
Fortunately, Kane managed to turn around and move away from the kid… he could move in that new and strange body, and that was good. However, the scenery wasn't moving fast enough. Kane tried to run as fast as possible, but he was moving as fast as when he was walking in his human form. There was no way he would be able to escape like that. Kane only had one option… make the face of a lost puppy and hope that the kid would spare him. However, when he turned around, he saw the kid picking a coin from the body of the dead slime.
"Oh, shit… the humans from this world receive money by killing monsters. What the hell? This is not a game… is it?"
After looking around for a few moments, Kane saw a HUD in the corner of his vision. It had three colors, red, blue, and green, and it made him think even more than perhaps he was in a game.
Health: 08/08 Regen: 1.0 per hour
Mana: 14/14 Regen: 1.0 per minute
Stamina: 08/08 Regen: 1.0 per minute
Although that was interesting and exceptionally amazing, Kane couldn't waste time thinking about it. The kid was already walking toward Kane as if negotiation wasn't an option. If fact, he looked at Kane as if he was just about to clean his backyard. That voice really told the truth, and now Kane was in a world where the human-like beings hunted monsters on a daily basis. Kane had to do something... anything! Still, what could a slime do? He just became a monster, after all. He had no idea what he could do and what were the limitations of his body. In a panicked state, Kane tried something crazy.
"Status Screen! Skill List!"
It was insane, but since he had a HUD in the corner of his vision, there was a chance that Kane would have a status screen or perhaps a skill list. Biting the kid wasn't an option. Using a headbutt would be close to suicide, so he hoped that he would find something that could save him there.

Kane knew that slimes were stupidly weak, but it was even worse than he had imagined. The creatures only had a single skill… he probably could obtain more by using the system, but they were born with only Water Ball. Still, it was better than nothing, and given that the system reacted to his thoughts instead of words, he didn't have to learn a single word to use that skill. The very moment Kane thought about that, he fired a Water Ball from his mouth. He didn't even know from where the Water Ball would appear, so he didn't have time to aim… However, he still hit the target… a headshot. The kid got caught by surprise, and the attack caused a lot of damage.
"Wow… I just used magic!"
The Water Ball was the size of a baseball. Despite that, the impact made the kid take several steps backward. However, Kane's excitement disappeared when he saw blood dripping from the kid's face. He had caused a lot more damage than he thought… his single attack destroyed the left eye of the boy.
"I hope that I won't end up in jail for that… Oh, well… he wanted to stab me, and he probably killed a human just now… so I don't have to feel guilty about it."
Kane was just trying to convince himself that he was innocent of that crime, but considering that he only broke the teeth of a few idiots in the past and only a few times, he felt quite guilty for destroying the eyeball of a minor. Still, hesitation on the battlefield was as deadly as a cannon bullet. So, he couldn't hesitate.
"No, no, no,… don't think about it. This isn't Earth, and he is your enemy, Kane. This world certainly doesn't have animals' rights, much fewer monsters' rights… so it couldn't be helped. This was self-defense."
Kane should have used those brief seconds to hide or something. He only understood that when he saw the fierce eyes of the kid…. If it was Kane, and a monster had just destroyed one of his eyes, he would get the hell out of there without thinking twice. But the kid was braver than him… or perhaps more stupid.
The kid held its spear with both hands and took his stance. Any average person would have laughed while looking at that… it was a kid versus a slime, after all. There was no need for martial arts or anything of the like, but since he didn't want to lose his other eye, it was only apparent that it was necessary.
Kane wouldn't wait to be attacked, so he fired another Water Ball. However, the kid destroyed the projectile that was about to hit his head with a single swing of his spear. That weapon didn't look that impressive, but considering that Kane was just a level one slime, any weapon would be capable of enduring his attacks, being they made of magic or not.
"Oh, shit… I'm pretty sure the Water Ball flew faster than a real baseball. How this kid has the reflexes to react from so close?"
It was a world that had monsters and magic, after all. So, perhaps something like that was possible. The humans of that planet probably had stronger bodies after dealing with monsters for so long… while that was interesting and all, it was also bad news for Kane. He learned something at that moment... he couldn't stop until his enemies fell to the ground.
