"Ugh! Damn it!"
I have been running around for a while now, but I still haven't found either Varvara or Maria. Just where the heck did that two run off?!
I have gone to the library but other than books, nothing's there in that spacious room. After that, I haste to the gym, then to the cafeteria—but same as the library it was practically empty. At times like this, having my ability sealed really is a disadvantage, my cellphone is not working, too. I'm currently here behind the school at the artificial lake, but I see no sign of people here. With the barrier active, I supposed all the teachers are preventing all the students from coming out of their classrooms.
"Tsk. I'm taking too much time just by searching for those two. I wanna make sure that they are at least safe—wait a trace?"
Indeed, there's no sign of people here, but the water seems disturb and there are faded footprints faintly visible at the shore. They must have been here. I dashed away again in hope of finally finding both of them.
Finally, I have reached the garden part of the academy. But in front of me was a maze garden—a hedge maze which was divided equally into walls. This maze leads to the pavilion if I remember correctly. This maze or labyrinth certainly looks amazing. It was made in great details, too. However, I don't have time to enjoy this sight or traverse this garden to discover each and every part of its walls—I have to find the girls as soon as possible!
"You leave me no choice!"
I leapt over the first wall in sight and lands on the top of the hedge—then from their I jump from wall to wall, transferring from hedge to hedges. This way I won't have to be lost until I reach the pavilion. I am still halfway before reaching the other side, but the garden's pavilion was already in sight. Wait what's that? It seemed to be lying on the ground.
"A person?"
No, that body frame is familiar to me! I propelled myself faster when the image of Varvara came into my mind as I saw the figure before the pavilion. And as I thought, I was right on the money—it was Varvara! I landed swiftly and ran towards her then hauled her in my arms.
"Hey, are you okay?! Pull yourself together!"
She was in a very dreading state, she was pretty beat up and a residue of magic is still sparking over her body. Her clothes—uniform was tattered from top to her skirt. I always thought of Varvara to be as flat as plains but with her clothes like this her truth was revealed. Under her uniform was a 'sarashi' or 'bleached cloth'—it was holding the volume of her chest pretty well. However now that it has loosened its grip, the size of her breast was now revealed— 'twas on par with miss Claudia. 'twas amazi—no! This is not the time to be amaze by her size! Sure, I was surprise—super surprise! However, I have things to do! B-but in her current state, it's hard not to gander. With her clothes really ragged, her skirt was in state that it could cover less. In that case her pink flowery underwear was in the sight for the world to see!
It was wonderful—kuh! Get out of my head evil thoughts! We have seen lot of those when washing Sofy's clothes! B-but…seeing it being worn does a huge damage really. L-let's be strong. I have to be a gentleman at times like this!
"Varvara! Hey, Varvara!"
Shaking her would be rude, but I have to ask her something. So, I called for her and lightly shook her shoulders. She opened her eyes, yes—but slowly as she was still weak.
"Gle…ren… I'm…sorry."
"No… I'm sorry, too. If only I have gotten here faster."
"No…"
Is she feeling guilty? Her body was shaking—trembling even.
"Varvara, do you know where Maria is?"
"They…took her… at church. I was weak—I'm really sorry."
She was tearing up as she says this.
"It's okay. Don't push yourself too much."
They? I want to ask more but considering Varvara's condition, it would only be a burden for her. I want to take her first at the infirmary, but I don't have the luxury of time. As I was thinking about this, another person appeared from behind me.
"Gleren! My lady?! Where is my lady Maria?!"
It was miss Claudia. She must have rushed here as she was panting and breathing heavily.
"Miss Claudia! How did you get here?"
"I was in my office sorting all the documents for the next class. But when I saw something at the sky—the magic circle, I knew right away that it was them. The guys who were after my lady. So, when I thought that she was in danger I searched for her everywhere, but I could not find her. Eventually, I've reached this place!"
She was in a state of panic. She must have been anxious. But I couldn't ask for more. Her timing was perfect.
"Good timing. I have the gist of where she was."
"T-then I'll go with y—!"
"No. I have a request for you. I'll go find Maria, but will you please take Varvara to the infirmary?"
"No! Going alone is dangerous! Those guys are strong! Going in without any plan is basically suicide… And besides, I heard that no one of you here will be able to use your ability!"
"I know that already. But please… She needs an immediate treatment!"
She looked hesitant—she even narrowed her gaze. Of course, she would. I mean entrusting you master with the person who only helped you once—if I am in her position I would hesitate too. But I am serious about this one. I need her to understand. When I thought that I needed to explain more, she shifted her gaze from me towards Varvara.
"What a terrible state she's in… Did she get this injury while protecting my lady?"
I nodded in response. That's mostly what happened. Considering that it was Varvara we were talking about, that is the only thing I can imagine.
"I get it. I will take her to the nurse's office. But you have to promise me! Please save my lady!"
"I intend to do so."
She took Varvara and carried her on her back. When she was about to leave, she turned to look back.
"Gleren, please be safe."
I'm not planning on dying here. And I still have to punch the person who hurt my friend. Whoever did this to Varvara—you will pay for this.
