"Why? What happened?" Alex's eyes narrowed, his eyebrow furrowing in concern.
Tyler hesitated for a moment before answering, "The mage has agreed to connect with the moon god and confirm Emma's curse before everyone."
"That's absurd," Alex said angrily, jumping to his feet. "I don't know what he's planning, but I won't let him succeed." He started to storm off to meet with Lewis, but I grabbed his hand to stop him.
"Wait, Alex," I said firmly, my determination evident. "I want to go with you."
"Are you sure, Emma? You just woke up, and the doctor said you needed to rest."
"Yes, I want to go," I insisted. "If the mage wants to confirm the curse before everyone, then I want to see it with my own eyes."
"Alright, we'll go together," Alex agreed, holding my hand tightly. "I don't believe you're cursed, Emma. The moon god wouldn't have done this to you. Or... I don't believe in the god anymore."
