Sophia's POV
Blood dripped onto my hand as I witnessed the shock and pain in his eyes. "Sophia? Why?" he gasped, his voice trembling with hurt. "You said you loved me. You said you wanted to be with me. And we were going to break out together. Why did you..." He turned to search my eyes, desperate for an explanation.
The truth was painfully clear. "Because I was lying," I admitted coldly, my heart torn between guilt and anger.
The betrayal pushed him over the edge, and he lunged at me with all his strength. I barely managed to keep the dagger steady in my hand as he came at me, fueled by anger and hurt. But this time, he lacked the strength to utter a word, let alone attack me.
