As everyone was eating lunch, James, Lily, Sirius, Remus, and Pettigrew sat with Eliza and her friends as they wanted to get to know each other better.
"So what is your job in the future? I was going to ask a bunch of other questions but I figured you'd just avoid them." James said, wanting to know more about his little girl.
"Well, I don't exactly have a job, I just do things here and there but I also invent new things using alchemy, arithmancy, and ancient runes. I didn't really have anything to do after we graduated so I left to go travel the world for about a year and a half before I moved back to London. I also won a dueling championship when I was 18 and 20 years old."
James and Lily looked proud at their daughters accomplishments, and so they continued talking and getting to know each other, when Sirius and Remus turned towards Blaise with questioning looks in their eyes.
"How close are we in the future? Because when you arrived here, you completely ignored your mother and sought out both Remus and I." Sirius asked the dark skinned man.
"I can't say why we are close, but I can say that we are very close in the future." Blaise said, to the two people who were more of parents to him, than his own mother. Sirius and Remus just nodded and continued talking with Blaise.
The Bone's were talking to Susan, as said girl teared up a little at finally being able to know her parents.
The Malfoy's were talking to Draco, and he was finally glad to get to know more about his grandfather.
The Nott's were talking to Theo, while he was ignoring his father and resolved to talk to his Mother and Grandfather.
The Greengrass' were talking to their daughters, as Daphne told them about her job as a healer.
The Black's were talking to each other, trying to maintain their pureblood masks and make them seem like the perfect family. They were a family with years of experience in lies and deceit, manipulation and power. A family woven with a perfect facade and a wickedly gorgeous grin on their devil in disguised faces. Yet if someone were to look closer in their distinctive stormy grey eyes, one would see the remnants of the shattered family that was trying so hard to hold onto their broken relationships. Not that anyone knew they cared. Sirius and Andromeda certainly didn't. Walburga was always harsh on Sirius, because if she wasn't, who would be there to make him strong enough to run away? She had wanted Sirius to get the life she was robbed of. Freedom of the Black Family. And so she was harsh on him and treated him cruelly, until it pushed him to run away. The exact thing Walburga had wanted to happen.
Dumbledore was thinking over everything he had ever done for the Greater Good, and he realized that he was fucked. He knew by the end of this he would either be dead, lose all of his positions, or be sent to Azkaban.
The Slytherin Quartet were talking with each other wondering if they would be mentioned at all in the book. Severus on the other hand was contemplating what his future self would be like. Based on the comments the Potter brat had made, it seemed as if he was close to the girl in the future. He didn't know how to feel about that.
Tom, Abraxas, and Alexander eventually sat together in silence as they watched everyone in the Great Hall converse with one another. Alexander couldn't help but tease his lord, "So, Eliza Potter, eh?" Tom glared at him as Abraxas laughed. "Apparently she's my soulmate." Tom muttered to his first friends/followers. They both looked at him in shock, as he sat there with a contemplative expression on his face. "What do you mean soulmate?" Alexander couldn't help but ask.
"Three days ago, I passed out and woke up in the in-between. Death and Eliza had talked to me and informed me that I had to absorb my horcruxes for my goals to work out, so I did. When I woke up again, Eliza was there and she had told me that she was the Mistress of Death, and that in every lifetime she and I are always soulmate's."
Abraxas and Alexander looked at him incredulously. Tom just nodded at them and they snapped out of their shock and just said, "Wow." Tom nodded again and got a far away look in his eyes that Alexander and Abraxas knew that he was thinking. They turned towards each other, shrugged and went back to their food.
When Eliza finished talking with her parents, she looked around the Great Hall, trying to find a certain Regulus Black. He had accompanied her as a ghost on her travels, and had gotten used to his snarky comments. She saw him sitting with Barty, Evan, Rabastan, and Severus, so she got up and walked over to them and plopped down next to them as the five of them looked at her in confusion.
"Hello Regulus, Barty, Severus, Rabastan, Evan."
"I'm assuming we know each other in the future?" Regulus asks.
"Yup, I met Barty, Severus, and Rabastan in the future, Regulus as a ghost but I didn't meet Evan." Eliza says nonchalantly as Regulus chokes on his food when she says "ghost".
"I'm dead in the future?" Regulus asks and Eliza nods.
"You were fantastic company as a ghost though, whenever I summoned you." Eliza says, again ignoring the looks she received from the five of them.
"Summoned?" Evan says, slightly nervous.
"I'm a necromancer."
The five boys look at her in shock and slight wariness, but otherwise don't say anything else.
"So, how are you boys doing? I need entertainment and bothering Barty and Severus in the future was always a fun way to have fun." Eliza says with a big smile across her face as both boys groan.
As everyone finished eating, the table holding all the food disappeared, and the chairs and bean bags all returned as everyone got settled down again.
Arcturus asked who wanted to read and Barty raised his hand, so he passed the book down to the Ravenclaw boy as everyone fell silent and started listening as Barty started reading.
