On the other side of the portal, both Lisa and Lucas were the last ones to get there and what greeted them was a sight to behold.
They were in a breathtaking garden, adorned with flowers of different shapes and colours. The trees were unearthly big and had strange types of fruits on them, the sky was a beautiful mixture of different colours that took one's breath away by only a glance.
But what was more magnificent was the castle that stood proudly in sight. It was black and grey in colour and had so many different chambers. It's dark yet alluring look was fascinating in an peculiar way. The castle was almost like Lucas.
"Do you like it?"Lucas questioned, distracting her for a fleeting second.
"Yes, it's beautiful" She answered back with a small smile. Though literally Lisa wanted to scream, Is that meant to be a question!?.
"Come" Lucas led the way and they made their way into the magnificent palace. Getting inside, Lisa had to say it was more beautiful than the outside. The dark decor, the candle lights hanged by each wall, the numbers of chandeliers that lined up in an orderly manner, the red carpet that went straight ahead and disappearing in the next turn and it smelt like something she couldn't identify.
Honestly, when Lisa heard him say they were going to the underworld, she expected to see fire, demons and humans begging for mercy but this was totally out of the ordinary.
Lisa noticed that they had arrived in a room that looked like a drawing room. How she knew that it was a drawing room was that it looked exactly like they explained it in books.
Lucas made his way to one of the chairs in the room that was more majestic looking than the others and sat down gracefully. Glancing at Lisa who was still awestruck by everything, he patted the space beside him and Lisa on cue sat down quietly.
"Your Highness"Alex fell on his knees and bowed his head deeply. " Forgive me, I didn't know of your identity, that was why I was so rude earlier."
Lisa was confused as to why Alex was begging. Wasn't Lucas just a prince?
Completely ignoring them, Lucas turned to Lisa and said"You must be tired, let me show you to your room."
She heard a tone of finality in his sentence and noted, It was not a request, but an order.
"Okay"
And they stood up to leave. Before leaving, Lucas passed a glance at Alex who was red in anger and smirked. With that, he left the room with Lisa.
Walking down the hall, Lucas remained silent and Lisa having nothing to say quietly walked beside him.
Now that she thought of it, Lisa had always presumed that Lucas was a ghost. Well, it wasn't totally her fault. With the way he appeared and disappeared it was hard not to put it that way, anyone would have had the same assumption.
They walked through many hallways and passages making Lisa think that maybe her room was on the other side of the planet. Her legs were killing her!.
Finally, they halted at a particular door and Lisa sighed in relief.
'yes!' She celebrated in her mind.
Lucas opened the door and got in and Lisa gingerly followed him, watching as he locked the door behind him and she gulped.
"Why did you lock the door?" She asked him cautiously.
"Why do you think I locked the door?"He questioned her back and her face fell.
"Never mind"She told him and turned back to see the room.
The room they were in was lavish and spacious. In the middle of the room was a king size bed and little drawers by the side. It had two magnificent windows which lead to the patio outside. Everything looked modern yet ancient at the same time.
Seeing Lucas take a seat on one of the Windows, she left to the bathroom and freshened up before changing into a pink silk nightgown that was hanged in the bathroom.
Unconsciously, a smile appeared on her face. She was sure that Lucas had purposely left it there for her.
Walking out, she went to the bed and let out a deep sigh. It was funny how ignorant she was. She would have never imagined that she would be in the underworld, a place where humans call hell and that to with a guardian that is the leader of all demons. There was one thing she learnt, the ignorance of these creatures was better than knowing that they exist to haunt you down.
Lucas could hardly contain himself where he sat. Ever since Lisa stepped out of the bath, her scent had increased by folds and it took all his might to stay put without pouncing on her.
"What are you thinking about?"Lucas asked her, breaking the silence.
Hearing his deep yet husky voice startled Lisa out of her thoughts.
"I..uh..I was thinking of how you lied to me" She replied, pouting slightly.
Lucas's eyes sparkled in amusement and he walked to her.
"And what did I lie about little deer?" he asked
"Well, you lied about been a ghost and I'm sure that story you said was a straight up lie" She answered with an angry face.
"The reason I said that was to feed your curiosity" He gave her an oblivious look and she rolled her eyes and stood up, folding her hands across her chest.
Not hearing any sound after a while, she turned around and almost collided with Lucas, forcing her to step back.
'How did he get there!?'
"Do you want me to fall?" She asked him sternly and all he did was smile. Every cell in her body screamed to run, noticing that he seemed a little different.
As she stared at him questionly, Lucas stretched his hands, suddenly slamming it on the other side of the wall. She stumbled back in surprise, finally realising that she had stepped back for so long that she was at the wall already.
She watched as he leaned in to her neck and it sent shivers down her spine.
"Damn..it.."Lucas cursed under his breath as he watched her milky pale skin that was so inviting for him. He was not meant to do this, but here he was.
"Lucas.."Her breath hitched when she felt Lucas lips graze across her skin.
