Marcella returned to her station. She sat on her seat and she couldn't concentrate. She could see her other colleagues looking at her in annoyance as she was not doing her job.
"Glo," she called for her friend who was busy doing nothing. It was not their busiest time.
Gloria glared at her and turned her face away.
"Glo, what happened?" she pulled her sleeve.
"Don't touch me, liar," Gloria patted her hand away.
Marcella tried to talk to Gloria but she didn't relent. The tears she was holding back till then spilled out.
Gloria rushed to her side.
"Hey, Mars…come on. Why are you crying? I was just pretending… Well, I am mad at you but don't cry…"
Gloria brought her to the break room and hugged Marcella until she composed herself.
"What's wrong, Mars? What are you… Your husband came looking for you," Gloria said holding her hand. "He was in a hurry. Did he… Did he hurt you?"
