Tony stood up and held her hand. "I should have knelt in front of you with the ring," he gently caressed her ring.
"It's… fine," Marcella got her hand back.
Someone once told her that there was a nerve that comes straight from the heart and ends up in the left ring finger and that was the reason traditionally the wedding band was worn on the left ring finger.
She didn't know whether it was true or it was a superstition.
At that moment when Tony's finger touched her finger, she found something touching her heart. She has never felt that way before.
"I think you were kneeling when I asked though," she smiled and rubbed her hand in her nightgown. It was ticklish there.
Tony kept on staring at her hand.
"I wanted to break the news to my friend first. That's why I removed the ring in the morning," she looked at the ring.
