The driver opened the door as them as Slyvian got down first before helping Deva out of the carriage.
Deva smiled when she saw the now refurbished cottage it was very much bigger than the one she grew up in but it still always felt like home.
Slyvian stood beside Deva he didn't understand why she had such a heartfelt smile wasn't it just a house a small one at that.
Deva looked at Slyvian to see his confused expression and he turned to meet her gaze.
Why was she laughing? Did he do anything funny.
"Slyvian what do you see.."
Slyvian turned wasn't it just a house and a meadow there was nothing else to see.
"A house and a meadow.."
Deva shook her head, what he saw was a house but to her it was her home and she was the only one who could understand the joy she felt.
"Do you know what I see.."
Slyvian stared at Deva confused what else could she see, wasn't it just a house. Slyvian thought you himself.
"What I see,is my home although it is a house this is were I grew up I have some attachments to this place that will never fade away.."
Slyvian looked at Deva finally understanding what she was trying to say and said "My home is wherever you are.."
"Why do you love me Slyvian there's nothing special about me.."
"There is but that's not why I love you I just do but I remember this you're the only woman I want to spend my life with.."
Deva blushed a little Slyvian had always been direct with his words and he never held back.
"A lifetime is a long time Slyvian.."
Deva said and started walking she was eager to see her parents she had not seen them in a while.
Mrs Curtis was currently harvesting the carrots and cabbages she wanted to use to make lunch when she saw two figures walking towards the direction of the house.
She paused and looked at them why did the one on the right look so familiar.
Deva!
Mrs Curtis dropped the basket as she ran towards them, she didn't even remember to call her husband Mr Curtis.
"Deva!..Deva my darling daughter.."
Mrs Curtis cried when she was Deva she always wondered how life was for Deva in the castle but seeing her daughter looking ever so beautiful and well dressed she knew Slyvian was treating her well.
"Mother how have missed you so..."
Deva eyes watered as she ran to meet her mother, after leaving with Slyvian she had always prayed for her parents to be okay.
"Deva you've grown even more beautiful and look at your beautiful dress it suits you so well.."
Deva gave a little twirl making her mother laugh then she caught a glimpse of Slyvian standing on the side like a statue.
Mrs Curtis shivered alittle as she bowed before Slyvian but he stopped her. She was Deva's mother if Devadid not bow to him why should her mother bow to him.
"That's not necessary Mrs Curtis there's no need to bow, you and your family do not need to bow to me.."
Mrs Curtis was surprise the king was very respectful today unlike the first time he came to them arrogant and tyrannical!
"Your highness! The last time you came you forced my daughter to a corner and made her follow to the castle how are you going to make up for that.."
Mrs Curtis was a noble woman, she received education and she knew very how the castle works as she had worked in one before.
It wasn't a nice place if you weren't noble or royalty they would look down on you.
"Mother.."
Mrs Curtis raised her hand she would not allow her daughter to interfere after all she was the victim here. This was between her and the king.
"Yes I know my first impression wasn't a good one and if you were given the chance you'd still take away Deva from me. But I'm making up for my mistakes by making sure that Deva's happy and her loved ones are comfortable. I was a bit protective but I realized that she needed to go out and see the world or else she would grow tired of the castle.."
Mrs Curtis smiled a bit and turned around seems like there was more to the king that meets the eye.
"Let's discuss more inside your father will be greatly surprised.."
Deva smiled and placed a hand on her mother's shoulders. Slyvian just followed behind them and as usual not saying a word.
Mr Curtis who has been calling his wife for a while now came outside to look for her, he saw her basket on the ground and he grown anxious.
"Wife! Wife where are you.."
"I'm over here! You old coot.."
".."
Deva and Slyvian blinked did her mother just looked her father a old coot, actually both her parents were still young her father was only in his mid forties and her mother in her early forties and they were in good shape.
"Wife! Where have you been you nearly gave me a.."
Mr Curtis words died down when he saw Deva, his darling daughter was right before his eyes and it wasn't a dream.
"Deva! My little pumpkin.."
".."
Deva lips twitched why did her father have to use that ridiculous nickname. She turned to look at Slyvian who turned and smiled at her.
Seems like he wasn't the only one who was giving incredulous nicknames.
"My my who knew my daughter was this beautiful the Curtis blood is definitely following through you.."
".."
This time it was Mrs Curtis turn to carry a blank face.
What Curtis blood! It was clearly because she was a ravishing beauty when she was young and that's why their daughter was so beautiful.
The apple doesn't fall far from the tree!
