Chapter 39 - Chapter 39 MONEY CAN'T BUY ANYTHING

As the bells rang from the distance, time slowly passed by, it has now passed the sixth bell of the afternoon. With the sun has already disappeared im the sky leaving the whole town occasionally lit by magic lights and torches. Though most of the town is already dark, most of the town was still lively as the business street were full of people. Some are on their way home or secretly on their journey visiting pubs and brothels.

Luis' sari-sari store was still lively, though only few customers were still buying some goods, laughter with occasional snoring from a drunk person can still be heard from a far. Who is snoring that loud? Who knows.

Playing cards, chess and even mahjong. It is crowded as bystanders watch the games on every table, though no money was involved but betting alcohol was the norm. Since even if you have money, you still can't use it if the liquors are out of stock!

'My liquors are cheap, you got money but I'm out of stock!' "Sigh! Did I popularized gambling on this world? Of course not! It was already a thing from the past! Not me." Luis said as he was at the side watching four people on a table playing mahjong.

"Boss, who are you talking too?" Noah asked as he heard his boss mumbling.

"Cough! You won't understand my troubles, you need to eat more rice." Luis then returned inside without even looking back at Noah who was full of question marks on his head.

…..

"WE ARE HERE!!" With a bang, a little girl barged inside Luis store alerting another little girl, Sarah who was counting the money on the cash register.

Fearing that the running girl would bump the glass counter, Sarah, sacrificing her tiny body, hurriedly went down from her seat and blocked the little girl's way.

"AHH!"2X

The two bumped their heads together, and two also fell down.

"What happened?" Hearing the noise from inside his store, Luis poked his head out of the living room's door.
