She was a lady of the night, standing at the sidewalk. Wisps of smoke left her lips as she let out a soft sigh.
It was a tough night, as nobody had come seeking her services. But it wasn't long before she heard a deep voice say, "Follow me."
As though she were spellbound, she followed after the voice into an alley. She looked around and asked, "Where are you? I can't see you."
The voice replied, "What else do you see?" It was then she noticed she was in pitch black darkness. She couldn't see anything at all!
Fear slowly set in. The woman dropped the cigarette and dashed off in a random direction. "Where are you going?" The voice called out as a hand grabbed her arm.
A sudden sensation of pain on her cheek startled her. It was hot, and soon the smell of burning skin assaulted her nostrils.
The woman screamed as loud as she could, her voice bouncing off the walls and echoing into the distance.
"I never liked prostitutes, you know?" The voice said as the sound of flesh being ripped rang out.
"In there! That's where the scream came from!" A man's voice could be heard saying as people rushed to the alley.
"(Sigh)....Humans. Always have to spoil my fun." The darkness faded away.
A group of around six people arrived and saw the limp corpse of the lady of the night slumped on the ground. Blood gushed out from her neck, where four identical slashes had ripped her throat. It was an appalling sight.
"Someone ring the cops now."

Little Hayley waited till everyone had slept before waking up. The bedroom door let out a silent creak as she slowly opened it. It was midnight, the time when thieves were on the prowl.
Hayley tiptoed into the passage and out into the living room before making a silent beeline for the kitchen.
She looked around, checking if the coast was clear.
Right now, Hayley Chevenix seemed more of a secret agent than a little conniving thief!
She went to the shelf and raised her little head to see. Seconds later, her cute lips curled into a smile. Target acquired!
Hayley looked around and found her little chair. After carefully positioning it, she stood on it and reached out for the tin of sugar.
No amount of hiding would stop Hayley, a super sleuth by birth, to find what she wanted!
A soft sound made Hayley freeze. Could it be that they were awake and were baiting her?
She got down without making a sound. She crept silently into the living room, and what she saw scared her out of her wits.
A man dressed in black was struggling to remove the TV! His head was masked, and the little girl came to a conclusion. This was a thief!
Her gasp alerted the thief, who turned to look at her. Hayley was frozen in fear.
The thief made slow, easy steps as he moved towards her.
Hayley couldn't handle the fright any longer as she released an ear piercing scream.
Not even five seconds passed before Gary bolted into the room and engaged on a brawl with the thief.
The winner was obviously the Chief. "Quite some nerve you got there, attempting to steal from the Head of Police's house, don't you think?" Gary asked.
Hayley had hearts in her eyes as she looked at her hero.
Gary looked at her and asked, "Hayley, while I may commend you for helping me catch the thief before he stole anything, what were you even doing here?"
The thief watched this and couldn't help but think this whole thing was ridiculous!
'He's finding the time to talk about that when I'm not even handcuffed!?' A kick at the back of his legs caused Gary to fall, and the thief had a knife at Hayley's throat seconds after.
"For a Police Chief, you're quite dumb, Chevenix." The thief continued, "Now you might as well surrender all valuable items to me peacefully. I really don't want to end a little girl's life."
There was no getting out of this one for Gary. Not unless some miracle happened. Some miracle like....
Hayley, by some incredible courage, bit the fingers that held the blade. Do recall how painfully sharp milk teeth are.
The thief yelled and with his other hand sent a slap to her head. It didn't reach its target though.
A pair of elegant hands caught his arm and twisted it before sending a chop to his vagus nerve. He fell on his face to the floor.
Hayley turned around and smiled. Elena smiled back at her.
"Nice move there, Elena," Gary commented while cuffing the thief. He pulled the unconscious body to the car and drove to the station.
Elena looked around the house, trying to find out how the thief got in. That's when she found herself in Hayley's room, staring at an open window.
She looked at Hayley, fury evident in her gaze.
Hayley, on the other hand, gave her a sweet innocent smile, as though she wasn't the one who left it open.
Sofia, who had just woken up, came into the room. "What's going on?" Elena relayed the entire ordeal.
Sofia asked, "Did he steal anything?" Hayley shook her head. "In that case, Gary's taking the wrong thief to the station."

Gary got to the station to see a patrol car about to leave.
"What's the matter?" The officer at the wheel answered, "There's been a murder in Raven Alley. We are on our way to the scene."
"Wait there," Gary ordered, and the engine went silent. Gary put the thief in a comfortable 3×3 cell and went back outside.
"Lead the way."
They got there in around three minutes. They met with six people sitting on the sidewalk.
The people got up immediately when they saw the cop car. They were even more relieved, now that even the Chief was here.
The cops got to work, asking questions about what happened.
Gary was in the car, chatting with Sofia on WhatsApp.
[So it was Hayley who let him in?!]
[Correction, brother, Hayley is the real thief. She has the sugar on her mouth to prove it.]
[We'll settle the matter when I come back. Expect me in an hour.]
[What's going on?]
[Something came up at work, so I won't be able to come back now.]
[Okay.]
Gary got out of the car. One of the officers said, "Sir, they claim they heard a scream coming from the alley, and they rushed there, concerned. They got here to see a woman on the ground, dead."
Gary asked, "Method of killing?" "They said she had four slashes on the throat."
The officer had turned round, so he didn't get to see Gary's face turn pale.
"Take us to the body, then."
The second officer came out of the alley that very moment. "Chief," he said, "the body's missing."
