Gary broke out in cold sweat.
'Any fool would recognize that grey hair! '
"What exactly does the hair look like?"
The officer spoke, "Its black, sir, but looks like the color has faded a little, giving it a slight grey color."
"How are you so sure?"
"Some people took photos, sir."
Gary said, "Thank you. Remind me to give you a raise!"
"Thank you sir!!" The officer was overjoyed. Since when was it so easy to get a raised paycheck?
'Why didn't this happen sooner!?'
Gary ran into his red Navara and drove home.

"Okay, we're here!" Hayley said with an excited voice.
Jayden looked at the house and around the neighborhood.
It was his first time going anywhere, since his movements were restricted to Greystone Castle and Westlake Institute.
He gazed in wonder at the surroundings, slightly wishing he was a normal kid like the others.
'This place is beautiful.'
Hayley came to him, pouting.
"What's wrong, Hayley?"
"The gate is locked! We can't get in!"
Jayden looked at the lock.
'I am no different from a normal human, but some humans are strong enough to break locks, right?'
Jayden put his hands on the lock.
He hissed in pain and pulled back his left hand.
'I forgot my hand was broken. Argh!!!!!! Curse this damn Dark Moon!!'
He was counting on his healing to open the lock, since humans naturally stopped trying because of pain. But without his supernatural healing, what could he do?
Gritting his teeth, he said, "I don't think k I can open it, unless...I...."
He looked at the hairpin on Hayley's hair.
"Hayley, may I borrow your hairpin for a moment?"
She gave it to him, and he picked the lock without much difficulty.
'Was it always that simple?'
He opened the gate and said, "There you go."
Hayley saw him turn to leave and shouted, "Jayden, wait! My parents and sister are coming back soon! I want you to meet them!"
Jayden couldn't tell her that he was a wanted man at the moment, now could he?
"I'm sorry Hayley, but not today. Maybe some other time."
Hayley started to cry.
Now there was a problem.
Even though his abilities were dampened, his hearing wasn't, so the sound was amplified in his head, and it irritated him greatly.
"Hayley, don't cry." A strange feeling bubbled up in his chest, and his vision was slowly turning red.
Jayden started walking away, hoping to get away from the noise.
Hayley cried even louder, inciting Jayden's anger further.
'Why am I getting angry? Arch, she should just shut up! Maybe she'll keep quiet after I kill her. That sounds nice!'
Jayden cursed at himself for even thinking like that, and walked back to Hayley.
"Okay Hayley, I'll stay. But only for a few minutes, and I'll leave."
Hayley brightened up. "Okay! Oh look, here comes my dad!"
A red Navara screeched to a halt and a man jumped out.
He saw the open gate and rushed through.
When he saw his daughter safe and sound, he was relieved.
But when he saw the person standing beside her, he froze.
Jayden's face paled.
'No wonder her last name sounded familiar! She's the Chief's daughter!!'
Jayden felt like dying right there.
Gary gawked at him. 'The kid I've been looking for for the past three days is here! Right in front of me! And he even saved my daughter!'
Gary coughed and walked over, reaching an arm towards Jayden.
"The name's Gary Chevenix. Thank you for saving my daughter."
Jayden looked at the hand and hesitated.
'Should I make a break for it? No, he'll catch me. I'm not that fast anymore. Should I knock him out? No, my left hand's broken, that'll disable me in a fight. Should I accept it?'
Jayden reached out and shook Gary's hand.
"From the way you're looking at me, you already know who I am."
Gary nodded. "I do, Greystone. Don't worry, you're exonerated."
"So you finally call me innocent after hunting me down for three days, hunting down an innocent person! You had no proof that I did whatever you accused me of doing, yet organized a hunt for me!!"
Jayden was bluffing.
'I did kill them on my own, but the story's too ridiculous to believe. If I've been exonerated, it means Ethan's in custody now! That's a relief. I must keep playing the part of the innocent victim, though.'
Gary looked at the ground in guilt, not daring to look at Jayden, who was trying his best to look mad.
"I apologize, Sir Greystone."
Jayden smiled,"Its okay, at least I'm no longer on the run. I must say, your cops are quite competent."
Before Aiden gave him the jacket and the wallet, Jayden had spent those two days being chased by police almost constantly. He never was good at hiding in plain sight, anyway.
It was as if he stuck out like a sore thumb wherever he was, course in the alleys, the people who saw him would chase him for the reward.
A blue Corolla parked beside the Navara, and a beautiful blonde haired woman ran out.
"Gary! Did you find her?"
She saw her daughter in Gary's arms, and there seemed to be someone else there, a familiar face.
"Uh, honey? Isn't this the person you've been looking for?"
Gary nodded, "He is, and he's the one who saved Hayley."
Vanessa's attitude took a 180° turn and she beamed a smile at Jayden.
"You're staying for dinner, right?"
She asked him while giving him a look that did not allow him to refuse.
Jayden sighed and nodded.
'What have I gotten myself into?' He cried inwardly.
Jayden and his little friend sat on a bench in the back yard, playing a game.
Hayley sighed and said, "I'm bored. Jayden, is there ant cool thing you can do?"
Jayden thought for a moment.
'Could I do that? She won't be scared, right?'
He told her,"There is but promise me that you will not tell a single soul what I'm about to show you."
Hayley put up a finger. "Pinky swear!"
Jayden smiled. She reminded him of Davina during her playful moments.
He put up his own pinky.
"Okay, here we go! Look into my eyes."
Hayley stared at his eyes. 'Nothing's happening.'
After ten seconds or so, she noticed something.
Jayden was screaming internally, ' Come on!! Work already!!!!' He was getting angry now.
His eyes started glowing a bright gold, astonishing Hayley.
"Your eyes! They're...." Hayley put a finger to her mouth, shutting herself up.
The glow faded. "What do you think?"
"Awesome!"
Vanessa looked at the duo playing together and smiled.
"He's a very nice kid."
"A kind criminal."
