Jayden was staring at the sky, contemplating ideas on how to get himself out of a kind of trouble he had no power to fix.
'I can't do anything about the Werewolves, but I can do something about the cops. All I need to do is find Ethan and get him to change his stance.'
As the clock struck midnight, Jayden felt all his strength leaving him.
'What's....happening?' He fall to the ground, powerless.
He was alive, but there was a slight problem.
'Why can't I move!'
He tried moving his finger, but he failed.
He tried yelling for help, knowing that doing so would definitely put him behind bars.
No sound escaped his lips.
'You gotta be kidding me?! I can't do anything!!'
'Is this the effect of the Dark Moon? Then what am I supposed to do now!? Live every night like this for two weeks every month for the rest of my life!!?'
'I wonder if this happens to all Werewolves.' He found solace in that thought.
Ethan was walking and talking fine. He was actually having a midnight snack and watching TV while Jayden lay motionless on the ground.
'Dad and Aunt Erica never showed weakness on the Dark Moon. Maybe its because they're stronger.'
His resolve steeled. 'Then I will get stronger if that's what it takes!'
His anger bubbled from inside him, and using that, he willed his body to move.
All he did, was make his finger twitch.
'It twitched!! It worked!!'
Unfortunately it was a one time thing, for no matter what he tried for the next thirty minutes nothing happened.

Maya, Aiden and Austin were in the car, driving into the city.
As she drove, Maya looked back and saw Aiden and Austin start ng at each other nervously.
"You hadn't answered my question. What happened on Saturday?"
Aiden cooked up a lie. "Well, you see, Jayden and I were in the locker room, and Ethan came in, requesting a word with Jayden. So we went into the woodlot, where gangsters were waiting for us, under Ethan's command. So they jumped us and Jayden told me to run while he faced them."
"And you ran away instead of helping him fight?!"
"I didn't! I was blocked so I had to fight too! By the time we finished, Jayden was heavily injured so I took him to a private hospital and calls Austin to came over."
Maya was silent for a minute. "I think I understand. You guys wanted to keep Jayden to yourselves! Why didn't you call me too!? He is my friend as well! I would have come along no matter what I was doing!!"
Aiden and Austin looked down, with guilty looks on their faces. They were in distress. Whenever Maya was in a state like this, it was as if her emotions passed on to them.
She sobbed, tears streaming down her face. "So where is he now?"
Aiden replied, "I don't know. Since he was declared a fugitive, he won't be at the hospital. So I suggest we look for him in unguarded places, like the amusement park."
"Okay. But guys, never do this again." She wiped the tears off her face.
They went to the park and turned off the engine.
They walked in and searched for quite a while.
They searched for an entire hour, but didn't find him.
"He's not here," Aiden said. "Let's look somewhere else."
Austin said, "I agree. Let's go, Maya."
The trio walked back to the car, but Aiden stopped and turned back.
"I hope you can hear me, my friend. I have kept your secret safe from Maya, at least for now. We have no idea how she will react, and honestly, I don't want to know. She seems to like you quite a bit, though." He smiled. "Stay safe, Jayden. I will do everything in my power to put you out of this mess. Till we meet again."
Aiden got into the car, and they left.
Austin asked, "Dude, weren't you wearing a jacket when we came?"
Aiden replied, "Your eyes are misleading you. They're filled with water and fur."
Jayden lay still on the ground, Aiden's jacket giving him warmth.
'Thank you, my friend.'

Chief of Police, Gary Chevenix was staring at his desk in silence.
His wife, Vanessa, walked into the room.
"What's the matter, Gary? You've been sitting in here for hours."
Gary looked at his wife and sighed deeply.
"There's something that's been bothering me since Saturday."
Vanessa took a seat next to her husband and implored him to continue.
"Remember what I told you about the Greystone kid?"
"Yeah?"
"We had received a tipoff from our man in the Scorpion Gang that they were planning on kidnappings Greystone's son. So I had my men stationed at the school to protect him."
"But somehow, the gangsters all died, along with one of my men, who was a distance from the crime scene. He had the signature four slashes on the throat, signifying that our elusive killer was in the school."
"Then Jayden was found missing, along with Aiden Walker, Austin Kingsman and that kid Ethan Hawk, the one who claimed Jayden was the killer."
He paused and continued, " Some things don't add up. Like, if Jayden had really killed them, he would have made sure they were all dead. Also, how did he know that he was being ambushed in the first place? Because for those sixteen men to die, he had to have known beforehand. And what's even more ridiculous, Ethan claimed he killed them all himself!!"
Vanessa spoke, "It does sound crazy. Any chance he's taking some kind of medication?"
"No, there isn't. For me to get a clearer picture of this case, I might have to go to Westlake Institute and conduct an investigation."
"That would be for the best," Vanessa agreed. "Now, come and sleep. You don't want to look like a sleepy old man during the interviews, do you?"
"I'm not old, I'm 30!"
Vanessa gave him a knowing smile. "If you say so, " she said as she led him to the bed.

Sunrise, 03 July
06:00
Jayden woke up and got up, putting on Aiden's jacket.
After a few seconds of stretching and yawning, he realized something.
'I can move again!! Yes!!' This confirmed his suspicions.
'I was right. The Dark moon weakens me. This simply means I will have to find a safer place for the night.'
He checked the pockets of his friend's jacket, and found a wallet stuffed with cash.
There was also a note that read, "I figured you would be broke, considering you're a fugitive. You owe me one, man."
Jayden smiled, "Smart guy." Come to think of it, Aiden was the smartest one in the group. 'That'll change soon, I hope.'
Armed with a stuffed wallet, a warm jacket, and a face mask he found in the other pocket, Jayden headed out in search of food.
He broke into a run shortly after.
Two minutes later, he was huffing and panting.
"What the hell!?"
He came to a very unfortunate conclusion.
"I'm as weak as a normal human during the day."
