Everett stood in her position dumbfounded. At first, she thought that Fredrick was merely telling. However, the guy was far more ruthless than her imagination. He climbed up in his carriage without bothering to look back at her.
Everett had a look of disbelief on her face. Then she noticed something strange. Instead of horses, Fredrick's carriage was pulled by a bunch of lycans. But they looked less frightening in comparison with the other Lycans. Everett sucked onto her tears and started to follow the carriage helplessly. Other Lycans who came with him as a guard were slowly following the carriage from every corner. They sheilded the carriage with their all might.
Everett's mind was full of questions. She had no idea where they were going. Now that he had claimed her father's throne, was he a king now? Where are they going to live now?
She left the discussion the other day. Taking a deep breath, she started her journey with the Lycans. Looking back at Quintrell Castle, her eyes watered in pain. She spotted Ophelia on the second floor. She was being carried by her loyal maid Sitama as they watched her leaving slowly. Sitama was crying for Everrett. She could guess her poor fate. Even Ophelia showed emotion for the first time. Her baby face looked pale to see her favorite sister leaving. But when Everett made eye contact with her, Ophelia gave her a precious smile. A mysterious smile that contained a certain meaning that Everett didn't understand.
Her sweet smile caught Everett off guard. Logically speaking, Ophelia should be sad to see her leaving. Then she remembered that Ophelia was a special child. She didn't have the mind to distinguish between right and wrong. She sighed and tore her eyes from the castle.
In another window, Ophelia's other four sisters were watching Everett leave as well. Eve was knitting her brows in thoughts. Elenor expressed her thoughts as she said to her sisters,
" Now that Everett is gone, I am so happy. But are we still princesses? The throne is taken away from our father."
Eve sneered disdainfully, looking at Everett in the distance,
" She deserves to be treated like a slave. No matter how we are living, we are better than Everett. She will be fucked by those Lycans as soon as she goes there."
The second sister among them, Emma was silent all the time. She had a smart brain than them. After a long silence, she expressed her thoughts,
" But she will be staying in a castle. She is the king's mistress. What if she becomes a queen one day? Won't she seek revenge on us for bullying her? Technically saying, she will be the queen of ours as well."
Eve wasn't ready to accept this result. She barked out, glaring at Emma,
" NEVER!! With her stupid brain, she will never be a queen. Can't you see? The new king hates her. He will torture her to death to seek revenge on our father."
However, two of them still had doubts in their mind regarding the matter. They could accept anything but Everett, being a queen, wasn't accepted by them regardless of her sacrifice.
On the other side, King Lucerys was so mad that he broke everything in his room, ignoring the pain in his body. All of them felt like a dream to him. His precious kingdom was gone. The kingdom that he worked on to turn into his own was snatched away from him. He was less worried about Everrett. He was angry because it was a shame for his family.
His wife and the current queen, Reyne entered the king's chamber, looking pale and gloomy. She didn't make any appearances during the whole drama. As soon as she heard about Fredrick's arrival, she went to prepare for her and her daughters' departure secretly. She planned that if the kingdom faced any war today, she would be sneaking away secretly with her daughters.
Lucerys didn't turn back to see who it was. He had already guessed her presence and said meaningfully,
" He..he is back...How can he come back to life? I killed him with my own hands."
Reyne was silent oddly. After closing the door, she replied with a snort, going next to him,
" I warned you about this. Messing with a creature is no good for humans like us. Yet you chose to destroy his family brutally. I wonder, how come we are still alive?"
Lucerys snapped out of anger, his eyes burning in hatred,
" Because Everett traded herself for us. She is gone with the beast."
Lucerys paused to continue his words again, his feet pacing around the room anxiously,
" No...No..I have to do something, Reyne. I can't let this shame continue in my family. I have to take back the throne. But who can help us against the Lycans? I heard that all the kingdoms are under his control already."
Reyne was a smart woman. She might be looking too calm but her brain worked faster than Lucerys. She stayed silent for a while and then suggested with a deeper meaning,
" Why don't you make use of her good daughter?"
Lucerys shot her eyes up to Reyne confused. He asked with a tight frown, not understanding her intentions,
" What do you mean? She is under his captivity now."
Reyne replied cheekily, her lips carrying an evil grin,
" That's what I am saying. She is close to the beast now. If you want to destroy the Lycan, no weapon can be better than Everett. You just need to manipulate her into helping you."
Lucerys's eyes went wide in shock. Then his expression changed into a happy one. Walking over to Reyne, he pecked the woman on her lips and said with a meaningful smile,
" You are a wonder, Reyne. Now I certainly realize why it was so great to leave my first wife to die alone for taking you in my life."
