Everett looked down at the pile of glass pieces. Her eyes turned wide in disbelief. She looked like someone who was ready to run away. Her heart raced violently but she heard another growl from Fredrick. Coming back to her senses, she took a deep breath and readied herself to crawl on it. She understood this man too well. If he wanted something, it had to be done at any cost.
Gripping the edge of her tray, Everett knelt on the ground, her body barely moving as she was focused on holding the tray first. One step on the glass pieces, those glasses went through her skin, turning her face pale in pain. She gritted her teeth together and started crawling again until her knees were bleeding.
Fredrick saw the red mark on his carpet. He was so angry that he didn't care about anything else. Everett looked up slowly, chills ran through her spine when she saw the king's murderous eyes on her. For a moment, her heart skipped, her movements turned messy. The following moment, the least expected disaster happened. One of the bowls slipped out of her plate, almost hitting the ground but she caught it midway. But the disaster had already occurred. The food had already dropped on the carpet, turning her face paler than before. But Fredrick said nothing to horrify her more. Ignoring her mistake, she kept crawling to the king like a dog and placed the food next to the small table.
As soon as she went closer, Frederick gripped her chin fiercely, a devilish smirk playing on his lips. He said coldly, turning her chin numb in pain,
" Time for punishment, Princess! As much as I would enjoy killing your father, your helpless face gives me more satisfaction than that. Get up and follow me!"
Everett almost freaked out in fear. His cold eyes told her that there was nothing waiting good for her. She sucked a deep breath and stood up obediently. The king was barely wearing anything. She saw him snatching a rob from his side and walked outside. Everett kept following him close. She cursed herself for being too spoken. She has never been like this before. Then why did she become so brave around King Fredrick? Was she looking for an easy death?
Fredrick headed straight out of his dark castle, his steps leading to the dark woods behind the castle. As Everett followed him mutely, she couldn't help but shiver in the cold weather outside. The lawn trees stood still, wearing a scary mask amid the dark night. The more she walked, she heard faint howling, coming from the woods. No doubt, it was some wolves howling in distance. Her fear grew wild when Fredrick stopped in front of the woods, turning to tell her with a smirk,
" Here! There are some wild wolves in the woods. They are my frenemies. Go ahead and give them some food."
He pointed at something next to them. A large bowl of fresh meat was already prepared there. Everett's mouth hung open in disbelief. She had never interacted with lycans before. In fact, he was referring to them as wild already. It meant that he had no control over them. They could kill her if they wanted. Everett swallowed hard, admitting her mistake suddenly,
" Your Majesty! I was wrong! Why don't you choose..ah.. something different as punishment?"
Her words brought a huge grin on Fredrick's lips. He liked to see her submission attitude. However it made him wonder why he enjoyed teasing her or scaring her so much. He believed that it was because of the hatred that he had for her. But King Fredrick forgot that fire could burn anything..even a cold heart.
Frederick responded to her, his eyes twirling in amusement,
" What kind of punishment would you like? Will you like it if I tie you against my bed and fuck you like a wild beast that I am like my other mistresses?"
Everett was so scared of that idea that she nearly tripped on her feet. She shook her head immediately and turned in a whip to get the meat bowl. Frederick almost laughed at the sight of her horrified face as if she had never heard such vulgar words before. Everett walked into the woods, signing her death to the wolves inside the woods.
On the other side, Skol was returning from his patrol duty when he saw the king and his new toy. He marched on Fredrick's side when he saw Everett, entering the woods. Skol made a remark, staring at the girl in the distance,
" My king! What do you want to do with her? You know those wild lycans. They don't even listen to you. They are deprived of human flesh for a long time. They would pounce on her as soon as they smelled her flesh and blood. If you want to kill her, why don't you kill her by yourself?"
Fredrick let out a snort, whipping his head back at the woods,
" They know how to not fuck up with what's mine. Even if they kill her, I don't care...She can die there.. It's my play, Skol. Stay out of this!"
Skol was secretly happy to hear him. He thought that Fredrick had forgotten his revenge and took an interest with this no-named princess. Even he prayed that the girl had died horribly in the hands of those wild lycans. In that way, they would get a share of her fresh meat. He too missed the taste of human flesh but Fredrick had strictly forbidden them to hunt any humans without any reason. It was torture to him but he had to follow Fredrick for living an honorable life.
On the other side, Everett kept walking and walking until she saw a bunch of black furred Lycans, fighting among each other wildly. They weren't aware of her presence but Everett stopped in her tracks and let out a loud scream out of fear...
