" Prince... Fredrick..You..."
King Lucerys stuttered in shock, staring at the familiar face. He almost couldn't recognize the teen who had turned into an adult now. There had been changes in his features. He was looking more mature and deadly now.
Fredrick Silvester broke into a grin, his lycan components snarling on both sides. He corrected him in an amusing voice, looking deep into his eyes,
" King Fredrick Silvester, the rightful heir of this kingdom."
The guards all looked shocked by his words. Even Everett looked a bit confused. She still couldn't understand what was happening. What did he mean by rightful heir?
King Lucerys snapped back at him, appearing dull and frightened,
" Fredrick...I can explain... It's just a misunderstanding.. Listen to me.."
King Lucerys came forward to explain. His steps were extraordinarily slow as he was afraid to approach Fredrick. He still didn't give up and continued with his words,
" I wasn't in my right mind. I shouldn't have done this to you. Please let me explain."
In a blink of an eye, Fredrick held Lucerys in the air, his feet were inches high from the ground. Fredrick had a murderous look on his face. Fredrick's voice continued to echo like an animal, his long cannies coming out of his mouth,
" LET YOU GO? DID YOU LET ME GO WHEN YOU THROW MY BODY INTO THE RIVER OF AHASKA? DID YOU SHOW ME MERCY WHEN I BEGGED YOU TO LET ME GO?YOU WILL PAY FOR EVERYTHING, KING LUCERYS! YOUR WHOLE KINGDOM WILL PAY FOR YOUR BETRAYAL TO MY FAMILY. YOU WILL DIE IN MY HANDS!"
King Lucerys's guards tried to approach them but his lycans showed their cannies, stopping those who tried to approach them. Everett broke into cries when she saw blood coming out of her father's mouth. All the time, she was watching everything from the other side. She couldn't stand anymore. Looking at her father's almost dead face, she came out shouting, pulling down the wedding veil from her head,
" STOP!STOP! LET HIM GO!STOP! STOP!"
Fredrick Silvester's murderous eyes finally landed on the petite woman who just came out of nowhere. He looked at her wedding gown, narrowed his gaze deeply to see her courage. Even the chief guards didn't dare to intervene with him. How dare this little girl come to the rescue?
Fredrick almost went to crash her at once but then he noticed the small crown on her head. It took no time for him to understand that she was one of the princesses. His anger worsened than before. Still keeping King Lucerys in his grip, he remarked with a twisted smile,
" Look at you! Aren't you a little princess? Hmm? Come to save your darling father so that you can continue being a sitting princess?"
Everett looked at his father's face, tears filling her eyes. No matter how badly she was treated here, she couldn't watch her family die. She glanced at the terrified guards then to her father before speaking in a weak voice,
" Give us a chance. I beg of you. Just let us compensate you. You can do anything but not kill my family."
Everett's sisters were standing nearby. As soon as they heard her speaking to the evil man who broke into their castle, they encouraged him further,
" Yes, yes, take her. Leave us! She is a jinx."
Everett's heart broke to hear her sisters. Even at this crucial moment, they wanted her to die. Here, she was doing everything to keep them alive. Everett added with a sad smile, tears falling from her hazel eyes,
" Yes, I am jinx! Take me, leave my father."
Surprisingly, Fredrick let go of her father. However, he walked straight in front of Everette. As soon as he came near her, she smelt fresh blood from him as if he was laying over dead bodies. Everett felt the urge to puke but she dared not. Fredrick said with a crooked smile, his eyes watching Everett intensely,
" You are an interesting woman. You are saving them while they are selling you off. You definitely not a princess. Who are you then,mm? Is it some trick to play with me?"
Princess Elenor wanted to shout that yes, Everette was no princess because her mother was no official queen. But the other sisters stopped her as they wanted her dead by Frederick. Everett was immensely terrified by his presence. She was trembling from her waist down but kept her head high. She replied with a little confidence, locking her eyes with his cold gaze,
" I am a princess of my father. I am willing to do anything as long as you let go of my family. We can negotiate anything."
A throaty laughter came out of Fredrick. It sounded funny and insulting. Even the guards were shocked by her words. She was just a weak princess. How could she negotiate with the enemy?
Fredrick asked, almost leaning close to her lips,
" What will you give me in return, Princess? You are no king. The suffering that I went through because of your father, you can't even compensate for it with your whole life."
Everett suddenly blurted, her eyes pleading to Fredrick,
" We will give you back your kingdom."
" NOOOO! NEVER! THIS KINGDOM IS MINE!"
King Lucerys suddenly shouted, ignoring his pain from the earlier bruises. He struggled to get up but his decision was final. Fredrick replied with a dark chuckle, impressed by her offer,
" See, your father wishes early death. Why do you bother so much?"
Fredrick turned to grab King Lucerys again but Everett suddenly proposed with tears, kneeling in front of Fredrick,
" PLEASE! We..we can be allies. You can rule over us but let go of my father."
Fredrick snapped his head back to glare at her. Fuming in rage, he strode to her suddenly, gripping her by her chin to shout his words out,
" I DON'T WANT TO RULE! I WANT REVENGE! ONLY THE BLOOD OF THIS FAMILY CAN CALM MY LYCANS."
