Sylvia was pacing around in the garden after eating her dinner. Favian was not home yet. And though she was relieved at his absence, she couldn't help but wonder about Roger.
She wanted to know if they had found anything about Roger's disappearance. She had her shawl around her shoulders, and her raven hair was loose around her shoulders.
The maids and servants kept telling her to go to her room as it was late in the night, but she insisted on staying out, waiting for Favian.
The clock stroke at eleven in the night when she heard a carriage entering through the gates. She rushed in that direction to see Favian stepping down the carriage. She couldn't see his face clearly in the dark but the heavy stature of his body gave away his identity.
Sylvia hurried after him as he made his way inside the villa. Sylvia wanted to call his name but decided against it. She kept following him, trying to catch up with him, but he was faster.
