Mason froze for the briefest moment and before I knew it, he'd hoisted me up and returned my kiss tenfold. His possessive, demanding kiss, quite literally took my breath away. He was fire and I was ready to get burned, and I would've returned only to burn again in his flame. He fisted my hair with both his hands, his tongue ravaged my mouth leaving me breathless. Somehow I ended up on the desk with him trapped in between my legs. We were so close, I could feel his heat radiating through my body and his cock pressing against my folds. He was hard, and I wanted him to take me.
" Mason," I breathlessly said the first chance I got, and that jolted him back to reality, making him pull away from the heated kiss.
He turned around, walked towards the door and stopped, resting his head against it. By the time I climbed off the desk, he locked the door and I halted. I was ready to run after him. When he unlocked it, I took a measured step forward. I was approaching like he was a wounded wild animal, treading carefully.
" You couldn't leave it alone could you?" Mason said and hit the door with his fist. I had no idea what he was speaking of. Leave what alone?
" Sign the papers, Lily," He ground out, running his hand through his mousy blond hair. I stopped when my name came off his lips. That was the first time Mason had used my name in a very long time.
" No," I walked to where he was and hugged his waist. I was clinging to him and the fact he'd kissed me back was enough to tell me that it wasn't just me.
" Christ, Lily," Mason huffed and I hugged him tighter, resting my chin on his shoulder. His head was down, resting on his hand against the door. He fell silent, I fell silent. We stayed like that in complete silence for the longest time, even though he wasn't touching me. I was content that he'd let me touch him. It was enough.
Mason sighed, raised his head and turned around in my arms, facing me. He tenderly pressed his lips against mine and exhaled when he pulled away.
" I'm not the man for you, Lily," Mason said as he cradled my face and locked eyes with me. I knew that. I knew that Mason wasn't a one-woman man. It had become very obvious over the years.
" I know," I meekly said and closed my eyes. No matter what I did or thought, my heart wanted him.
" Then why? Sign the papers, Lily. And you can have any man you want," Mason was pleading, with his eyes and words for me to let go. I couldn't. I had tried, in vain.
" I want you," I bitterly admitted, feeling the sting of my tears. It was a truth that I'd never said out loud, not even to myself.
" Sign the papers and leave. You will forget about me before you even know it," It was Mason's turn to be bitter. His words didn't match his expression.
" Tell me you don't want me and I'll leave," I was able to squeeze a choked-up reply, feeling my throat tightening. His answer would be my undoing.
Mason closed his eyes, and took a deep breath " I don't want you," He breathed the words and pressed his forehead against mine. Mason never shied away his gaze from me.
I swallowed my tears " At least look me in the eyes. I deserved that much," I whispered, I didn't have the strength in me to do more than that. I had lost many battles against him in the past. I wasn't willing to let him have that one too.
Mason chuckled and opened his eyes " I can't do that," He let out a shaky breath and pulled away, lowering his hands to the side. I was happy, but sad at the same time. Now, what? It wasn't one-sided anymore. I had no doubt in mind that I loved with all I had. Mason was slippery on the other hand. I knew he wouldn't settle for me, he'd probably not settle for any woman. I puffed my cheeks and lowered my hands to the side.
" I'll sign the papers, but with one condition " I had made my decision. This was my last and only chance and if that was all I could have, then so be it.
" Sleep with me," I made my demand in a firmer tone. I was done playing the cat-and-mouse game. I had been playing it for almost two years.
" Tonight. And by the end of the week, I'll have everything packed and ready to go. If that is what you want," I added, trying to make sure that he knew I didn't want to leave, but I would if that was what he wanted.
Mason chuckled, in disbelief " You know... I'm the biggest man whore Morston has ever seen. Lily, I knew your parents. They entrusted me with your well-being. I don't want to do this to you. Why would you even...." Mason paused and walked around me to the desk " Why would you want to become just another out of many, so many..." Mason was surprised at my decision. I had to admit that even to myself, I was bastshit crazy. I wanted to get him out of my system. I hoped that once we slept together, the magic that I shrouded Mason in would dispel.
" I'm well aware of all those things, Mason. Remember, we live together. I've seen so many women slip out of your room " I chuckled, shaking my head in disapproval to myself not him " My parents aren't here. I'm eighteen now. I'm fine with it. I don't care." I did care, but there was nothing I could do about it.
" It's just one time and I will be gone. You will do what you normally do and I will never bother you again. Unless you want me to." I thought making myself clear on the terms of our agreement would make things easier for both of us. Well, it was mostly for me. Hearing it coming off my own lips, helped things sink in better. I knew, once he'd agreed I couldn't go back on my word. Even if I did, he would have to agree.
