HELPING HER HEAL
Once Camily had finished narrating everything that had happened in the past, Lily couldn't help but be shocked. She knew that Debbie died but she didn't know it was suicide and hearing that the man laying helplessly on the hospital bed was a Mafia boss was more surprising.
"I had no idea, Camily. You don't have to be sorry. It wasn't your fault," Lily said, taking Camily's hands in hers, she was trying to give comfort to Camily.
Camily looked at Lily with tear-filled eyes, grateful for her understanding and empathy.
"I know I shouldn't blame myself, but I can't help feeling guilty that I talked her into taking her life," Camily whispered.
Lily knew that forgiving oneself was one of the most difficult things to do, but she tried to comfort Jack' sister who clearly was still blaming herself.
"Camily, I'm here for you. You don't have to go through this alone," she said, squeezing Camily's hands gently.
Camily nodded, feeling the warmth of Lily's hands on hers. She realized that, for the first time in a long time, she didn't feel alone. She had someone who understood and cared for her.
"Thank you, Lily. I really appreciate your support," Camily said, her voice wavering with emotion.
Lily smiled at Camily, urging her to let go of the guilt that weighed heavily on her heart.
"You don't have to thank me. We're friends, right? Just take it one day at a time, and we'll get through this together," Lily said, offering a reassuring smile.
Camily took a deep breath, feeling a sense of relief at having someone to confide in. She knew that healing would take time, but with Lily's support, she felt more optimistic about the future.
"Thank you, Lily, but please tell Jack I never thought she could do such a thing." Camily said, feeling lighter than she had in a long time.
Lily hugged Camily, sensing that this was the beginning of a new chapter in their friendship. She may have had a difficult past, but together they could create a brighter future, she just have to look for a way to convince Jack too after all, it's been a long time since Debbie died and she wouldn't like to see her family like this.
She wanted to ask about Roberto's whereabouts, she hasn't seen Roberto ever since she arrived but she didn't want to be seen as a nosy person.
