DON'T BE SO STUBBORN JACK
Jack laid on the bed with his legs crossed to each other with the phone pressed to his ear, listening intently as his secretary prattled on about the latest updates in the office. Since he is on a leave and he can't be present in the company, he had a lot on his plate, and he relied heavily on his secretary to keep him informed of any important developments.
"...And that's all the news for now, sir," the secretary concluded, her voice fading slightly as she trailed off.
"Okay, thank you. Keep me posted," Jack replied absentmindedly.
He was about to hang up the phone when he noticed Lily, his supposed girlfriend, walking towards his desk with a determined look in her eye. Lily was a striking woman with long black hair and piercing big doe eyes. Jack had always found her attractive and today was no different but recently he noticed his heart always beat anytime she around, he finds himself wanting to see her more often.
"Hey Jack," Lily said, interrupting his thoughts.
"Hi Lily," he responded, trying to hide the joy that was present in his heart.
Lily's presence made him feel relaxed. He wasn't sure what it was about her that made him feel this way, but he couldn't shake the feeling that may they can work something out together.
"I was just wondering if you had a few minutes to talk?" she asked, her voice soft and sultry.
Jack hesitated for a moment, unsure of what to say. Her voice was very different unlike the Lily he knows, he was curious about what she wanted to talk about.
"Sure, I can spare a few minutes," he said, straightened his back and sat upright.
"Great," Lily said, smiling at him.
As she sat down in the bed across from him, Jack couldn't help but feel curious. He tried to shake off the feeling and focused on Lily.
"So, what can I do for you?" he asked politely.
"Well, I wanted to talk to you about it is about your sister Jack, you have been giving her the cold shoulders and she couldn't talk to you, she had no choice but to talk to me." Lily said, leaning in closer.
Jack's mood turned unpleasant as he felt Lily's breath on his face. He tried to back away discreetly, but Lily didn't seem to notice.
"I heard what happened between you guys from what happened to Debbie and it's not fair to keep on blaming her when it's not entirely her fault." she continued.
Jack pursed his lips in displeasure and sighed, "it's not in your place to tell me how to treat my family, how I treat my family is not your business." He gave her a warning look, don't go saving a nation when you can't save yourself."
Lily tightened her lips in determination, "I know but I couldn't help it, she is your sister Jack for God'sake.
"I appreciate your input, Lily, but I think I have everything under control," he said, hoping to end the conversation.
But Lily didn't seem to take the hint. "Do you think Debbie would have wanted you both looking like this? You guys look pathetic, she is always looking at you, wanting to talk to you while you ignore her as if she is not there with you in the room, don't be stubborn at least try having a conversation with her Jack." Lily said holding on to Jack's hand.
"Lily like I said before, you are not my girlfriend but someone I paid to pretend for me, it's not because I brought you to my Family house, you think you can tell what to do and what not to do." He quickly pulled away from Lily, ending the conversation.
Lily's expression darkened, and she stood up from the bed.
"Fine, Jack. It's doesn't matter if I am not your real girlfriend, I am not comfortable with the tension everytime I want to eat dinner." she spat, walking out of the room.
Jack felt a mix of dread and confusion as he watched Lily leave, somehow it hurts him to see Lily in that mood and it confused him also.
