Hours had passed and Alaric awoke with his head resting on Ari's shoulder. He quickly sat up and pretended he hadn't been in the first place, resting a hand on his cheek. "So you stayed up the entire night?" He squinted.
She'd sat still while he slept not wanting to disturb him. By now she could see the silhouette of the islands in the distance, the rising sun painting everything in blush tones. "I was too excited to sleep." That and she was afraid of having another nightmare where she woke up screaming on a plane with everyone close by.
"Don't complain when his parents drag you all over the place, you had the chance and you let it pass you by." Grumpily, Alaric reached over and pulled the window cover down and continued glaring. She knew full well he hated all that extra sunlight, yet she just left the window shade up.
