He looked away, wailing. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry."
"Don't look away." Cold hands turned his head back and he stared up at the horrifying sight. "You did this, you know what you also did?"
The skies started snowing crimson snow and Alaric already knew what he'd see. "I didn't. I didn't. I didn't! Stop, I'm sorry." His breath was ragged and hoarse from all the screaming and yelling. He forced his eyes closed but she pried them open. Instead of it being what he usually would see.
Ari was laying in the snow with her heart torn out and her head ripped out. A strangled cry left him and he ran over to her body. "Ari! Who, who, I told you." Shaking he pulled her lifeless body against him but she melted through his hole. When he turned around, it was himself grinning with blood on his face and her heart and head in each hand.
