Ari plopped in the sand further up the beach where the waves couldn't reach her. Rooster trotted up to her before laying on her lap, nudging her hand for pats which she obliged. At least the weather was nice. There wasn't a single cloud in the sky while the morning sun warmed her skin. The air smelled fresh and sweet with a hint of flowers. "Being stranded on a beach could be worse." She pulled off her shoes to wiggle her toes in the sand.
"Hello, yes. This is Alaric Draconis, send me a personal boat to Honolulu. Yes. Yes. Thank you." He hung up, glad the agency knew how to track the ping on his phone. Stuffing it back into the back and placing it into his pocket, he groaned. "God, the sun is already getting on my bloody nerves."
"It is worse for Alaric." Rafael laughed, earning him a middle finger.
Rooster jumped into the water and floating around on his stomach with his tongue flopped out.
