Alaric didn't move when she turned away from him. He only wrapped his arms around her, pulling her mind into darkness that swirled into memories of her mother holding her in the bed.
Similar to now, there was rain pelting against the window. She looked young, those frown lines non existent as she smiled as she rocked young Ari.
"And what did the pig say?" Her mother asked young Ari.
"Oink Oink." She replied with a smile that was missing one tooth.
"That's right. You know I love you so much right?" Her mother asked. "You're a special girl, and nothing in the world will stop me from loving you." She ran her fingers through her curls.
The them now stood watching the scene, and Alaric extended his hand to her waiting for her to take it. "Come here. I'll leave after I show you something."
