Chapter 14 - Crossroads

Eventually, I reach Frieza's destroyed ship, landing inside it.

"This ship isn't going anywhere, I know jack shit about basic engineering, much less stuff like this," I commented.

Walking through the corridors, I happen upon a bay area.

"Is that an attack ball?" I said aloud.

Approaching it, its appearance immediately gives it away, red glass-like window, and a metal exterior.

This could be handy, I thought to myself.

Picking it up, I heave it onto my shoulder, sitting outside while I search through the rest of the ship.

Over the next few hours I scrounge through the ship, finding what I can only conclude are Saibamen beans, rations, armor, and weapons among other things.

Hauling anything of use back to the Capsule Corp ship, I quickly organize everything, carefully squeezing the assault pod into a storage compartment, taking up just about every ounce of room available within it.

"Guess I'll need more space eventually," I commented.

Remembering the Saibamen beans, I figured I'd go ahead and plant them.

Shooting five small holes into the ground, I plop a seed into each, and within seconds the Saibamen erupt from the soil of Namek, raring to go.

Whistling, I comment, "Not bad, those really do work don't they."

The Saibamen turn to face me, and soon after one of them smiles before lunging at me.

Slapping it in the face nonchalantly, it's tossed to the ground, "None of that."

The four other Saibamen fearfully look at their twitching brother, who is slowly rising from the ground.

"Listen, I'd rather not control you guys through fear, I'd like to see you become more than weapons, but if you can't manage that then I'll just treat you like tools," I explained bluntly.

I feel a bit bad doing this, but they have to understand their position, I thought to myself.

No longer opposing me, the Saibaman I swatted stands in front of me patiently, with the others soon following suit.

"Alright, glad that you guys are able to listen," I said.

A bit puzzled, I soon ask, "So what do you guys eat?"

Asking this, the Saibamen look around, eventually finding a fruit-bearing tree, they knock it down, sending the fruit rolling across the ground.

Quickly, they devour what little fruit remains, standing in front of me.

"So you eat fruit?" I said puzzled.

Grabbing at what remains of the fruit, it picks a few seeds up, eating them without hesitation.

"Oh you eat seeds, kinda like a bird," I said, a little less confused.

Sighing, I say, "Hope you guys learn to talk eventually."

Walking up the ramp of the ship, I sit down on the ramp, announcing to the Saibamen, "Go collect enough food for each of you to last a week."

Without hesitation, the Saibamen leap away, scouring the land for food.

Laying down on the ramp, I look up to the sky as I wait for them to finish.

Within half an hour, they quickly return, each holding easily a dozen fruit in their arms.

"Less than I expected to be honest," I commented, motioning for them to follow, "Let's get a move on."

As the Saibamen funnel in they begin to look around the ship, closing the door, I press a button on the console, turning the ship on and soon after sending us on our journey.

Jumping downstairs I approach the storage compartment, opening it up I carefully pull out the attack ball, fiddling with it until I manage to open it.

"Alright, let's see what I can find in here," I said, sitting down in the pod.

Rummaging through the attack ball, I happen upon a small remote.

"I wonder," I thought to myself.

Press a distinct red button on the remote, the attack ball's door closes, and a screen flashes on.

"Bingo," I excitedly said.

Looking at the screen, I can't read anything more than the numbers, "This is going to take a while..."

Exiting the pod, I look at the giant fridge, watching five frustrated Saibamen battling for who gets to put their food on the bottom shelf.

Chuckling, I thought to myself, they're kind of cute after you get past the fact they could destroy a planet.

"Hey, follow me upstairs," I said loudly, interrupting their conflict.

Jumping upstairs the Saibamen quickly followed, standing in front of me.

"I just want to tell you all the rules before anything happens, so pay attention," I said.

The Saibamen stared attentively, continuing, I explain, "No killing each other, and that goes for other people as well, also don't break anything on the ship, and especially no energy attacks in here, it's way too risky."

Thinking for a moment, I quickly tack on, "Also, no blowing yourself up at all, even when we're fighting."

Looking at each of them, two of them seem to have got it, but the others look frazzled.

Oh yeah, they're literally vegetables, if I say it enough they're bound to get it, I thought to myself.

"Alright, we're good?" I asked with a thumbs up.

Confused, one of them grabbed my thumb.

Pulling my hand away, I explain, "No, you don't grab my thumb, it's a thumbs up," squinting I press my fingers against my nose.

Sighing, I continue, "We'll work on it, for the time being, I'm gonna put the gravity machine on so you guys can train a bit."

Walking over to the machine, I turn it to ten times gravity, quickly the Saibamen are slammed to the floor, forcing them to gradually pull themselves up.

"Alright, once you all are accustomed to this gravity we'll go from there," I explained.

Walking toward the lower level, I say, "If you need anything just wave for me."

Returning back to the attack ball, I begin the process of trying to understand the alien language.

Over the course of four days, I gradually familiarized myself with the buttons and language, eventually allowing me to route us to a nearby inhabited planet called Planet Mogina.

Arriving soon after this, we're welcomed to a thick green forest from space, soon landing we find a spot in a rocky outcrop, having spotted smoke nearby during landing.

With a heavy clunk, the ship lands on the planet, stepping off the ship, I soon notice the gravity is a good bit higher than Earth's.

"Good thing you all did some gravity training, the gravity here is close to ten times that of Earth's," I commented.

Stretching a bit before departing, we rocket off toward the fire, arriving in moments.

Looking down, a large feast of sorts is being held, with a giant beast being cooked over a giant fire. Green multi-limbed creatures feast on the flesh of the beast, atop it stands a more dignified variety of the green creatures, clearly more powerful as well.

"These guys look familiar... Where do they come from?" I spoke aloud.

Drifting down toward the gathering, the dignified creature turned toward me, seemingly noticing me.

Landing on the beast, I finally got a good look at the creature. Four limbs, bright yellow skin, and an extra set of eyes with a distinct scar across his top left eye, all wrapped into a package of dense muscle and power.

Whistling, I comment, "Not bad, those certainly aren't just for show."

Speaking a language I can't comprehend, I am still able to discern his aggression clearly.

Scratching my head, I retort, "Pretty odd language you got there."

Lunging toward me, he quickly pulled a large hammer from his back, taking a swing at me.

Throwing a punch forward, I shatter the hammer, the Saibamen angered by his provocation.

"Listen, these guys have short fuses, piss them off and it ends badly," I spoke slowly.

Shouting at me in his strange language, he throws his arms to his sides, growing a deep red complexion, horns sprouting from his head, and his physique growing larger.

Oh, I remember these guys! I thought to myself.

Grinning, he said something in his language before rushing toward me.

"Back," I commanded the Saibamen.

Leaping backward without hesitation, the Saibamen quickly distanced themselves.

As he crashed into me, the shockwave blew back a wave of dense wind, thrashing the air.

Unmoving, I grabbed his fists, squeezing until he began to drop to his knees.

"Chill," I said firmly.

Finally, somewhat understanding, he slowly stepped back, still on his knees.

"That's better," I said.

Opening his mouth, a blast of fire erupted from it, enveloping me instantly.

As the smoke cleared I was left unharmed, if not a little less chilly from the lack of a shirt.

"You son of a bitch, I only brought one extra shirt!" I berated.

Suddenly in front of him, I grabbed him by the horns, before kneeing him in the face, knocking him out immediately.

"Return," I commanded loudly.

Soon after, the Saibamen returned to my side, ready for seemingly anything.

I'm glad I spent some time training them, they used the Saibamen like retards in the show, I thought to myself as I smiled.

Looking at the surrounding creatures, I dropped to the ground next to them, and unexpectedly they bowed to me.

"That's new," I commented aloud.

While some trembled, others seemed to be entranced by my form.

"Oh I get it, I beat the old chief, so now I'm it I guess," I said.

I guess the question is how far should I take this? I thought to myself.

"You guys can't understand me, so that makes ordering you all around a lot harder," I said.

Looking around, I noticed the state of the species, makeshift teepees, bone tools, and hardly anything else to speak of.

Walking around for a while I got my bearings, the whole while being followed by the small creatures.

Standing atop a small cliff, the Saibamen closely guarded me against the creature's constant adornment as I stewed in my thoughts.

I wasn't thinking about food really when I planted the Saibamen, in hindsight that has presented a major issue, I thought to myself.

Looking at the horizon, it's surprisingly striking, with several warm colors mixing against the reddish-orange star of the solar system.

Looking behind me, I took note of the several hundred creatures which now view me as their leader.

That is a problem in an entirely different league, if I just leave these guys here without a leader they'll definitely die, I thought to myself.

"I'll have to sleep on it," I commented, drawing the attention of the Saibamen to me.

Standing up, I hovered up off the ground, motioning for the Saibamen to follow me, before rocketing off toward our ship.

At dawn, I awoke, and quickly I noticed the Saibamen rustling about near the exit.

Jumping upstairs, I yawn loudly and rub my eyes as I approach the door to the ship, which is oddly open.

"What's up with all the noise," I said, before opening my eyes to see hundreds of the excited creatures from yesterday.

Among the crowd is the previous chieftain, bruised and beaten from yesterday's battle, with his previous aggression seemingly gone.

How did they make it all the way here? I thought to myself with shock.

"Damn, I guess leaving you guys isn't an option... I'll stay long enough to teach you how to protect yourselves, then I'm gone," I relented.
