I made my way to Ashley's store, and as I approached, I saw her sweeping up broken glass from the robbery. She looked up and greeted me.
"Hey, Kai. How are you doing?"
"I'm okay," I replied. "Have you seen Ethan? He said he was going to meet me here."
Ashley shook her head. "No, he hasn't come by yet. But I did want to talk to you about something. There's a job opening at the Alpha's residence. The chef is looking for a cleaner or maid for the kitchen. It might seem odd, but the pay is higher than I offered you."
I raised my eyebrows in surprise. "Really? That sounds great. Do you have any more information?"
Ashley nodded. "Yeah, I can give you the chef's number if you're interested. I know it's not exactly what you were looking for, but it could be a good opportunity."
I thought about it for a moment. I had been looking for work to help support my grandmother, and a higher-paying job would be a welcome change. "Yeah, that sounds good. Can you give me the number?"
"Sure thing," Ashley replied, grabbing a piece of paper and jotting down the number. "Just tell them I recommended you."
I smiled. "Thanks, Ashley. I really appreciate it."
"No problem," she said, smiling back. "And if you see Ethan, tell him to come by the store. We need all the help we can get right now."
I woke up feeling restless, unable to shake off the events of the previous day. I decided to go and check on Ashley, and maybe help her out if she needed it. As I approached the store, I saw Ashley inside, trying to clean up the mess from the robbery. I walked in and greeted her, asking if she needed any help. She gratefully accepted, and we began to work together to straighten up the store.
As we worked, I asked Ashley if Ethan had shown up yet. She shook her head, and I felt a pang of worry. Where could he be? Had something happened to him? Ashley must have noticed the concern on my face because she suggested that I check out the job opening at the Alpha's residence. Apparently, the chef was in need of a cleaner or maid for the kitchen, and the pay was much higher than what Ashley could offer me.
At first, I was hesitant. Cleaning up after a bunch of rich people didn't seem like my idea of a dream job. But the more Ashley talked about it, the more it started to sound like a good idea. I needed money, and I couldn't just sit around and wait for Ethan to show up. Plus, Ashley assured me that the job was reputable and that I wouldn't have to deal with any sketchy characters.
As I left the store, I couldn't help but wonder where Ethan was and why he hadn't shown up yet. I made a mental note to try and find him later and make sure he was okay. But for now, I had to focus on the future and making the most of this opportunity.
After some more convincing, I made up my mind to apply for the job. Ashley helped me spruce up my resume, and I sent it in. A few days later, I received a call from the Alpha's residence, asking me to come in for an interview. I was nervous but excited at the same time. This could be my chance to finally get ahead and make a better life for myself.
As I arrived at the Alpha's residence, I was struck by the grandeur of the place. The driveway was lined with trees, and the house itself was massive, with multiple levels and towering pillars. I couldn't help but feel a bit intimidated as I made my way to the entrance.
I was greeted by Frank, the head chef, who seemed like a strict boss. He took one look at me and immediately started grilling me with questions. "Do you have any experience in cleaning? Are you reliable? Can you follow orders?"
I tried my best to answer each question truthfully and confidently. Frank didn't seem impressed, but he told me that he would consider me for the position. He made it clear that he was a no-nonsense boss and that he expected me to work hard and follow his rules.
I left the interview feeling uncertain about whether I would get the job or not. But a few days later, I received a call from Frank, offering me the position. I was over the moon with excitement.
On my first day of work, I was surprised to find out that I wouldn't be working directly with the Alpha. In fact, he had no family and rarely made an appearance in the kitchen. Instead, I would be working alongside the other kitchen staff, cleaning and organizing.
Frank was true to his word about being strict. He ran a tight ship, and any mistake or slacking off was met with a stern warning. But I was determined to prove myself and work hard to keep this job.
As I worked, I couldn't help but wonder about the Alpha. Who was he? Why was he so reclusive? But I quickly learned that it was not my place to ask questions or pry into his personal life. I was just a lowly cleaner, after all. But I couldn't help but feel a twinge of curiosity and wonder about the mysterious Alpha who lived in this grand house.
