As I continued to work under Frank's strict supervision, I began to feel more comfortable in my role as a cleaner in the Alpha's residence. It had been two weeks since I started working, and I was starting to get used to the routine. But then, Frank announced that there was going to be a party at the Alpha's residence.
My heart started to race as Frank explained that the party was for some important guests and that everything had to be perfect. He assigned me to clean the kitchen and dining room, while the other staff members handled the rest of the house. I knew that this was a big opportunity to prove myself, and I was determined to do a good job.
Over the next few days, I worked tirelessly to make sure that everything was spotless. I scrubbed the floors, washed the dishes, and polished the silverware until it shone like new. Frank inspected my work each day, and while he still had his strict demeanor, I could tell that he was pleased with my progress.
On the day of the party, I arrived at the Alpha's residence early, eager to make sure that everything was perfect. Frank was already there, barking orders at the other staff members. I quickly got to work, making sure that every surface was clean and every dish was spotless.
But then, disaster struck. As I was wiping down the counters, I accidentally knocked over a vase, shattering it into a thousand pieces. I froze, my heart racing as I realized the mistake I had made. Frank was furious, yelling at me in front of everyone. I could feel the eyes of the other staff members on me, and I wanted to disappear.
I was in a state of panic as I watched the vase shatter into a million pieces on the floor. Frank had warned me to be careful, and now I had gone and broken one of the Alpha's prized possessions. I felt sick to my stomach as I tried to gather up the pieces, but I knew it was no use.
Suddenly, I heard a deep, commanding voice behind me. "What's going on here?" I froze as I turned to see Ramon standing in the doorway. The feared Alpha was known for his short temper and ruthless nature, and I couldn't imagine what he would do if he found out that I was the one responsible for breaking his vase.
"It was me, sir," I stammered, my heart racing. "I'm so sorry. It was an accident."
Ramon's expression softened slightly as he looked at me. "Accidents happen," he said. "But you should be more careful in the future."
He turned to one of his guards. "After the party, bring this young man to my office," he said. "I would like to speak with him."
I was both relieved and terrified at the same time. Relieved that Ramon wasn't going to kill me on the spot, but terrified of what he wanted to talk to me about. I knew that I had to be on my best behavior from here on out if I wanted to keep my job and stay on Ramon's good side.
I took a deep breath as I followed the guard into Ramon's office. My heart was pounding in my chest as I tried to keep my composure. I had no idea what the Alpha wanted to talk to me about, but I couldn't imagine it was anything good.
As I entered the room, Ramon was seated behind a large desk, looking as imposing as ever. He gestured for me to take a seat in front of him. I did so, feeling very small and insignificant in his presence.
"Kai," he began in his deep, gravelly voice. "I wanted to speak to you about something. When I saw you at the party, I could have sworn that I had seen you somewhere before. Do you know what I'm talking about?"
I felt my heart skip a beat. I couldn't let him remember me from the night I was kidnapped. "No, sir," I replied, trying to sound as confident as possible. "I'm sure I've never met you before."
Ramon studied me for a moment, and I felt like he could see right through me. But then he nodded and leaned back in his chair. "Very well. I must have been mistaken. But I wanted to ask you something else. I've heard good things about your work in the kitchen. You're doing a great job."
I felt a wave of relief wash over me. "Thank you, sir. I'm glad to hear that."
Ramon continued. "I also wanted to offer you a job, a more permanent position here at my residence. Would you be interested?"
I was taken aback. I had never considered working here for longer than a few weeks, but the thought of having a stable job and income was tempting. "Yes, sir. I would be very interested."
"Excellent," Ramon said, a small smile playing at the corners of his lips. "I'll have Maria draw up a contract for you to sign. You can take it home and read it over before making your final decision."
I thanked him and left the office, feeling a mix of excitement and apprehension. Working for Ramon the Alpha was not something I had ever imagined doing, but it seemed like a good opportunity.
As I walked back to the party, my mind was racing with thoughts of what the future might hold. But in the back of my mind, I couldn't help but worry that my past might catch up with me and that Ramon might one day recognize me as the omega he had rescued from the kidnappers.
