The events of the party had shaken me up. Seeing my kidnapper again brought back horrible memories, and I couldn't help but feel paranoid and on edge. I knew I had to keep my cool, though. I couldn't let my fear affect my work or relationship with Ramon. The next day, I woke up early and quietly got ready for work. I didn't want to wake my grandma, who was still sleeping soundly. As I went to the Alpha's residence, I took a deep breath and reminded myself to stay focused. Once I arrived, I got straight to work. I tried my best to avoid any interactions with the guests, but it was difficult with the constant flow of orders coming and going. However, I managed to stay composed and professional throughout the day.
I was in the middle of scrubbing the kitchen floor when Frank called me over to the side. My heart started racing as I wondered what I could have done wrong. Had I messed up a dish or left something out of place? To my surprise, Frank's expression was one of shock rather than anger.
"Kai, from now on, you'll be working inside the mansion," he said. I was taken aback.
"What? Inside the mansion?" I repeated, unable to believe my ears. Frank nodded.
"Yes, the Alpha was impressed with your work at the party last night. He wants you to work in the main kitchen, attending to him and his guests."
I felt a mixture of excitement and nervousness. On one hand, this was a huge opportunity for me to prove myself and advance my career. On the other hand, I had never worked in such a high-pressure environment before, and the thought of cooking for the Alpha himself was intimidating.
"Thank you, Frank. I won't let you down," I said, determined to rise to the challenge even though I was scared.
As I stood there in shock, Frank noticed my expression, and his expression kind of softened.
"Don't worry, Kai. It's a good thing. The Alpha was impressed with your skills, and he wants you to have more responsibility," he explained.
I couldn't believe it. Just a few weeks ago, I was working in a small shop, and now I was being given the opportunity to work in the Alpha's mansion, damn now that's just scary and weird. It was a dream come true I guess, but I couldn't help feeling nervous.
"What about my duties here?" I asked, wondering what would happen to the rest of the kitchen staff.
"Don't worry about that. We'll manage without you. Your skills are needed in the mansion than here where you are being a nuisance. Besides, it's a great opportunity for you to learn from the best," Frank said with a frown.
I nodded, still trying to wrap my head around the sudden change. As I walked away, I couldn't help but feel annoyed that Frank didn't hesitate to throw me into the lion's den and grateful for the chance to work in such a prestigious setting.
The next day, I arrived at the mansion early and was shown to the main kitchen. The kitchen was larger than the one I was used to, with state-of-the-art appliances and gleaming countertops. It was a far cry from the cramped, cluttered kitchen outside the mansion.
As I got to work, I tried to stay focused on the task at hand. However, I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe as I worked in such a prestigious environment. The scent of spices and herbs filled the air, and I could hear the clanging of pots and pans as I worked alongside the other chefs and kitchen maids.
I was in the middle of chopping vegetables when Alpha Ramon entered the kitchen. I froze, feeling a sense of panic wash over me. What if I made a mistake in front of him? What if he didn't like my presence?
"Good morning, everyone," Ramon said and looked at me with a smile. "Oh, kai is it? do a good job here since you will be working in the main kitchen from now on or you will be booted."
"Yes, sir," I replied, trying to keep my voice steady, what a rude Joe.
"Good. You'll be working under me closely. I expect the best from you, all of you in fact" he said, his tone firm but not unkind.
"I won't let you down," I said but not too loud that he couldn't hear me, determined to prove myself to this rude alpha.
As the day went on, I found myself getting more comfortable in the main kitchen. I worked alongside the other chefs and maids, taking direction from the head chef who I found out had a higher post than Frank but she was less grouchy than him and learning from their expertise. Despite the pressure, I felt a sense of fulfillment and excitement as I worked on intricate dishes and learned new techniques o cooking.
At the end of the day, I saw the Alpha walking in my direction, Man this was not my week.
"Kai, I couldn't help but notice that you seem familiar to me, and I know it ain't from the party," he said, his brow furrowed and he standing there with the sunset as his shadow , if he wasn't so stock up and rude, I would say he was handsome, I am not saying he is though, ignore me and continue reading.
I felt my heart skip a beat and no it wasn't his face. Did he recognize me from the night of my kidnapping?
"Uh, I don't think we've met before, sir," I said, trying to sound as casual as possible.
Ramon shrugged, seeming to accept my answer.
"Perhaps I'm mistaken. It doesn't matter. Keep up the good work," he said, patting me on the shoulder before walking away.
I let out a sigh of relief, glad that I had managed to avoid any awkward confrontations. As I packed up my things and made my way back to my grandma's house, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement for the future. Working in the Alpha's mansion was a dream come true, and I was determined to make the most of this crazy opportunity.
