Muriel had wondered how she escaped death from that evil woman that wanted to strangle her to death.
The only thing she was able to hear before she was drawn into darkness was a livid growl.
It has the same sound as this man's growl. When he growled some moment ago, Muriel felt a resemblance between the growl she heard at that time when she fell into darkness.
Could this man be the one that saved her and brought her to his house? Muriel believes so.
If he's the one that saved her, that means he's not like those creatures that killed her parents and that also means that he's not a bad person.
"Do you feel okay now?" Alexander asks in a very mild tone.
Muriel nods but she really wants to ask him who those beasts she saw are. If this is his house, he should know who those beasts are and how they got into his house.
Even though Muriel was in a vulnerable state, she was still able to notice how those beasts trembled in his presence. It means that those beasts fear him.
"Let's wash you up," Alexander said.
He was about to rise to his feet and walk to the bigger bathtub to fill it with water but Muriel stopped him by holding his large arm with her tiny hand.
"Who are those beasts?" She asked with her normal gestures and of course Alexander was lost.
He couldn't understand her and he hated it. How can he communicate with his mate if he can't understand her language? He really needs to learn her language and wouldn't have to rely on Madeleine's help.
Like this moment now, he doesn't need Madeleine and also, many other private moments that will arise in the future.
Muriel waited for him to reply but he didn't.
Not everyone understands her language, why does she have to feel sad about him not understanding her… It is something common but still she feels sad that he can't understand her.
Seeing his sulking mate, Alexander believes that she's sad because he couldn't understand her.
"I'm really sorry that I can't understand. I will try my best next time, by learning" he said as his dark but brightly shining green eyes found her Effulgent sky-blue eyes.
Staring into his eyes, Muriel can see the sincerity in them and it looks like he really wants to learn her language, she shouldn't be angry at him.
She watches him as he stands and walks out from the huge bathroom but returns seconds later with a small note and pen.
He smiled at her, "Why don't you write your thoughts here, I will read it and reply to you."
He's so thoughtful, she actually communicates this way with most people that couldn't understand her language.
She collects the note and pen from him. He watches her scribble some words before returning the note to him.
His eyes carefully read through the words in the notes.
"Who are those beasts I saw a while ago? Were they here to kill me? Are they evil just like the beast that killed my father?"
Alexander found his mate to be a very inquisitive person. She has lots of questions and he can understand her, she's just curious.
He smiled and tugged the strand of hair that fell to her face behind her ear as he had a clear access to her beautiful face.
"They were my men, they are not evil," he simply replied.
Men? Those she saw were big animals and not humans. He said they are not evil, should she believe him?
Seeing that his mate is still curious to know more, he said; "They are shifters, half humans, half wolves and I am like them. The wolf that killed your father is like us but he's the evil one."
Half humans, half wolves. Muriel doesn't understand that word and this man in front of him is the same as those beasts but they are not evil as the one that killed her father.
He said they are shifters and with the small knowledge she had about that word, it means being able to change from one form to another.
Could it mean they are wolves and also humans?... That's incredible.
She has only heard of the word wolf but has never seen a wolf before. So those beasts are wolves, is that how wolves look… big and huge.
"Don't be scared whenever you see those beasts because you will be seeing more of them in the future but I can assure you that they won't hurt you. Rather they will protect you."
Muriel got out of her thoughts and stared into his eyes. Why's she believing every single word that he speaks?
Those beasts she saw a while ago won't hurt her rather they will protect her…. She believes him again.
She will be seeing more of them in the future, she really needs to prepare herself for that.
"Do you have any more questions?" Alexander asks and Muriel quickly nods her head.
She needed to ask him what a mate is. He said that she's his mate and he can never hurt her.
"What is a mate?" She scribbles in the book and shows the written words to Alexander.
A smile gently escapes his lips, his mate is such a curious person. He believed she asked this question because he told her that she's his mate.
He entered the bathtub and drew her back to rest on his hard chest. Muriel flinches a bit, she just doesn't understand why his touch always makes her feel a tingling sensation.
She didn't struggle to waggle out from his touch, surprisingly she loves it but her heart won't stop beating…she doesn't know why it is so.
Her body was stiff when she felt his breath wash over her slender neck, he's just so close and it makes her cheeks burn in scarlet red.
She feels ticklish as his breath fans her neck. Feeling that her cheeks might release smoke from too much blushing, she tries to waggle out from his hold but he doesn't let her.
"Stay still my dear, I won't hurt you. I just want to hold you this way," his voice is so cooing and the breath from his voice feels a bit warm as it soothes her skin.
