Chapter 13 - 13. His mate

They were even planning to take the human girl to the supreme alpha as they believed that he would tear her apart for invading into the capital pack but rather the supreme alpha used his high alpha tone on them and even brought the girl in his embrace.

This is so surreal, the supreme alpha they know is cold and heartless, he can never be so nice to someone talk more of a suspected spy. This made them ask the same question, who's this human girl to the supreme alpha?

Madeleine who arrived some seconds later was also affected by Alexander's high alpha tone because that's the tone of his which can affect her, his mild tone can't affect her.

She used her shielding spell to block away the gravity of the tone and that made her retain her stability unlike the werewolves and lycans around. Seeing Muriel, she's glad that nothing happened to the girl. If something should have happened to her, no one will escape the supreme alpha's wrath.

Muriel flinched at Alexander's touch and tried to withdraw herself out from his arms but Alexander held her more close.

She stopped struggling when she realized whose arms she's hidden. She felt so safe and hugged him tight as those tingling sensations washed over her. She loves the feelings, it helps calm her tensed body and relax her tiny muscles.

She couldn't stop the tears that were rushing down her cheeks. Some moments ago, she thought those beasts that circled her were going to kill her but now she feels safe.

Something in her makes her believe that with this man by her side, nothing will happen to her.

He said that he will not hurt her, rather he will protect her. Muriel somehow believes those words.

She doesn't understand that feeling of safety when he's around but she still welcomes it.

Alexander gently wiped the tears on her pale cheeks with his fingers. It hurts him seeing his mate this way, he shouldn't have left her even for a second.

He wrapped his hands around her as he carried her in a bridal style. She hid her face in his chest while her arms huddled around his neck.

Holding his mate in his arms, Alexander's body was able to relax. He couldn't explain the fear that aroused in him when he didn't see his mate in the room where he left her.

Though she was in a bad condition when he saw her, he still felt so relieved and let out a breath he didn't know that he had been holding. From now on, he will never let her out of his sight.

He walks gracefully with his mate in his arms as he passes through the wolves who were still wailing on the floor due to pain but that didn't stop them from seeing how their supreme alpha carried the human girl. This is so unbelievable!

"Do you know who the girl in supreme alpha's arms is?"

Alexander's beta, Dermot—who just entered the premises with Dylan—asked. They were both lucky to extricate the supreme alpha's thunderous tone. Seeing the whimpering and wailing werewolves and lycans, no one needs to tell them that the supreme alpha's tone caused the pain.

"His mate," Dylan simply replied but Dermot quickly glanced at him.

"I recently found out and I was shocked just like you. I'm sure they tried to hurt his mate, that was why he used the alpha tone. He did the same with me some hours ago but luckily he used the mild tone on me," Dylan added.

Dermot stares back at Alexander who's walking away with his mate.

Could this be the reason the supreme alpha was acting strange yesterday night. He asked him to stop the car and he left with it at high speed.

His eyes were bloody red and his wolf was on the edge when he drove off.

Just like everyone else, Dermot also thought that the supreme alpha doesn't have a mate so he's shocked just like Dylan was.

"But she's a human," he said and Dylan nodded. The girl smells like a human and it means that she's one.

Though there is a possibility that a human can be mated to lycans but it's something rare to happen, talk more of the supreme alpha being mated to a human.

That's absurd, how can a human become the supreme Luna. Both Dylan and Dermot couldn't make sense out of it.

..

Alexander carried Muriel straight to the bathtub, he needed to wash her up.

When he carefully drops her in the bathtub, Muriel refuses to let go of his neck which she clings onto and holds him tight.

She just doesn't want to leave that safe zone. Being so close to this man makes her feel safe and protected.

After what she saw a while ago, her body couldn't stop shuddering in so much fear. She couldn't stop the tears. For a second at that moment, she thought those beasts were going to tear her apart just like one of them did to her father. But why did she see plenty of them, were they here to kill her?

She's trying to get herself together and calm her shocking body but she can not after seeing a bunch of beasts that look like the beast that killed her father.

This subconsciously made her remember her parents' death and more tears flowed down her cheeks as she sobs.

Alexander was a bit surprised when his mate clung on him and refused to let go but he was also glad that his mate found his closeness as a comfort and safe zone but her silent sobs touched the deepest part of his soul. It hurts to hear those sobs coming from his mate. He doesn't like it when she cries, it upsets both him and that beast in him.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have left you all alone," Alexander's voice cracks. He's so mad at himself right now. If only he didn't leave her all alone to attend that stupid meeting, she wouldn't feel this miserable at this moment.

He was glad that she was starting to let go of her fears but now it all has come back all because of him.

He let her stay and hug him until she was able to calm down. She tries to withdraw and he gives her space to do so.

He wants to ask her why she left the room but he thinks it is not the right time to do so. Maybe she left the room because she didn't see anyone when she woke up and she felt scared to stay alone.

Her sky blue eyes were able to stare at him for a second before she took it away and stared down at her fingers.

Alexander could notice her swollen eyes and the wet tears that still lingered on her cheeks.

He gently raises his hand and uses his big thumb to wipe the tears away. Muriel felt a tingling sensation at his touch and she flinched slightly. She just can't explain these exciting feelings whenever his skin touches hers.

Seeing him safe and sound, she's somehow relieved that he's not dead because for a moment ago she thought those beasts had killed him. She couldn't explain the stung of pain she felt in her chest at that thought.

This is the same man she was scared of some hours ago. She was scared of him because she thought he's like that beast that killed her father but she believed him when he said he's not.
