Muriel slowly flaps her eyes open, her head hurts a lot but not so severe. She scanned the spacious room and realized that she's still in that same room she was some moments ago but she didn't find that handsome man and beautiful woman.
Strangely Muriel found herself comfortable around them although they somehow acted as those creatures that killed her parents but the man said they are not like those creatures, he said they are different and Muriel surprisingly believed him.
Muriel felt that the woman and the man can't be bad people and she should trust them. The woman has a voice and a face replica to that of her mother's while she feels so calm and relaxed whenever she's in the arms of that man, like there's some tingling sensation that erupted from her skin whenever they are in close proximity.
Not seeing them around, Muriel felt scared.
After witnessing her parents brutal death, she's now scared to be alone whether in darkness or broad daylight.
She was trembling when she climbed down the bed and involuntarily a tear fell down her cheeks.
She can't talk, she can only make whimpering sounds indicating that she's scared and urgently needs someone around her, not just anyone but that man, she felt unbelievably safe around him.
The last thing Muriel remembered was falling asleep in his arms after her eyes witnessed the same beast or replica of the beast that killed her father.
She was greatly terrified at that moment but luckily she felt safe in those large arms that held her close to his broad chest.
Now that she's scared, she needs those arms to hide her but he's nowhere to be found.
Is he gone? Has he left her behind? Or is he dead? Maybe those vicious creatures that killed her parents have killed him too. This thought made her shudder. She doesn't know why she felt pain thinking about the death of that strange man.
If he's dead, those creatures might come for her.
Muriel wanted to escape before those vicious creatures comes after her. Without thinking twice, she hastily scuttle out of the room.
As she ran she felt as if those creatures were behind her and that thought made her run faster but how fast could her tiny legs carry her?
She runs through a quiet and long pathway that looks so luxurious, she doesn't know where she is or her whereabouts. She's just running without a destination.
Finally she came across a huge spiral staircase that looks like a castle staircase. Muriel was awestruck, she couldn't believe how extravagant this place is but her fearful mind didn't give her the chance to explore her gorgeous environment and take in its beauty.
She saw some men in black suits when she scurried down the staircase and also some females walking around but the females dressed like maids.
This place looks so big and beguiling like a castle. For a moment, Muriel thought that she's in a huge and ineffable palace, or maybe she is. Words can't describe how prepossessing and extravagant this place is.
Muriel was mesmerized by the beauty of this place not knowing when some bevy of wolves surrounds her with a stance to attack her if she poses a threat.
She smells as human and they wondered how a human found her way in here, that's something impossible. Maybe she's a spy used by some rogue werewolves or vampires, well, she made a very big mistake by invading into the capital pack of werewolves and lycanthropes because she won't leave here alive.
Seeing them, it startled Muriel because she didn't know when they all surrounded her.
"Ahhh!" She screamed in utmost fear and slump on the floor, crouching her knees up her chin while her hands covered her eyes and her body tremulously shook in fear.
..
Alexander was agitated and at the same time stuck with a fear he had never felt in his entire life when he searched the whole room and couldn't find Muriel. Her scent is faint which means she's not in this room, no matter how he searches the room he won't find her here.
"Why the heck did you leave her in this room all alone!" he roared at Madeleine who quickly gulped down.
The supreme alpha's rage is not something pleasing to witness. She was only away for ten minutes. When did Muriel wake up and left the room?
She thought Muriel would sleep for a long time since she made her sleep off with the sleeping spell.
Extrapolating, Madeleine realized something, it looks like the sleeping spell can't hold Muriel for long. The first time she used it on her, she didn't sleep for long and that's the same for this second time. This girl is becoming more and more cryptic as time passes by.
Madeleine opened her mouth to speak but couldn't find a better word to let off. If she had known that the sleeping spell wouldn't hold Muriel for long, she wouldn't have left her alone in the room. But where could she go? She knows nowhere here.
Alexander ran his fingers through his hair. He's trying to calm the rage in him but if anything happens to his mate, he won't be able to hold in.
He stormed out of the room. Following his mate's scent that lingers on the right path of long pathways, he keeps on moving with long strides.
The scent led him to the down floor where he saw his mate being circled by some bunch of wolves. She squatted in the middle of the wolves while her body was shaking repulsively.
Alexander clenches his fist in anger. Seeing his mate this way enrages him.
He knew that these wolves don't know that she's his mate and they surround her because they thought she's a threat but still, his blood boiled in anger seeing that they scared his mate.
"Disperse!" his high ear-splitting alpha's tone blared in the whole vicinity.
The intensity of his voice made all lycanthropes and werewolves yowl in pain as they fell into submission. Some weak werewolves and lycanthropes started bleeding at the moment, the pain was so excruciating.
Without wasting time, they all draw back making a space for the supreme alpha to see the quivering girl who's convulsing at where she's squatted.
They were shocked to see the supreme alpha squat beside the girl and draw her in his embrace. Who's this human girl to the supreme alpha? Isn't she a spy?
