Chapter 39: The final battle of the Williard Village (2)
The chasm became colder than it had ever been before.
A woman trapped inside the unique ice tomb had opened her eyes and sneered at everyone looking at her with frightened expressions. Her awakening caused cracks to spread across the ice prison like worms gnawing on it to free the beauty.
However, their speed was slow.
The woman's fingers twitched, then. She gently tilted her head to the side, slowly warming up every muscle in her well-refined body.
It took her a few seconds to have a heat going from the top of her head to her toes.
And then, the white fox raised her hand and smashed the ice tomb into little pieces, finally setting herself free.
The sound of falling fragments echoed in the minds of the demons standing by on the watch… and the appearance of the gorgeous woman stepping outside her prison turned their hearts even colder.
A few of them acted on their fear alone, prematurely dispatching their skills at Gloria Cottonfluff. They extended their hands and conjured their unique mana around their hands — then they sent it forward in the form of ravenous hell hounds.
Doing their master's biddings, the dogs rushed faster than wild horses, aiming their sharp teeth at Gloria's limbs to immobile her.
"Idiots!" A more clear-headed demon exasperatingly shouted upon seeing their reactions. "Did you already forget how the heavenly lineage dealt with that woman?!"
The moment he finished his question was exactly the moment the hell hounds widened their jaws to take a bite of Gloria's flesh. However, what happened next reminded the panicky demons of Gloria's prowess that she displayed seven hundred years ago…
…and that was because their hellhounds simply lost their teeth while trying to chomp on Gloria's muscles.
The calm demon whispered in utter amazement. "Gloria Cottonfluff's magic resistance is on another level. No mere magic skill can hurt her. Even the heavenly lineage stopped using magic against her and shifted to physical damage skills to finally defeat her."
And that was the magical talent Gloria had inherited from the founder of her household. But in her case, that prodigious magic aptitude simply turned into a high-level magic resistance to protect her fully-trained body — her main weapon.
Nonetheless, Gloria followed and even became a maid of a gifted and adept man whose specialties were alchemy and magic. His magic had been noticed by the Imperial Arch Mage.
How could she not develop any skills after consorting with such a man?
Donned in her black suit and armor, which protected her from neck to toe, Gloria always had her stomach exposed... for many reasons. But the main reason was that she liked provoking other males with that part of her body. She had a weak spot for her abs, too, for that was the main thing that her family had utterly despised about her, looking down at her for years.
However, her magic was also related to it.
"Body Enchantment: Inventory." Gloria whispered in a serious tone, activating her first skill.
From her revealed stomach, a sword's hilt peeked out. She grasped it tightly and yanked it off, bringing her broad and sharp black sword back to the world after hundreds of years.
That was immensely convenient body enchantment as even Beelzebub currently lacked an inventory feature that players used to have during their prime. Of course, Gloria didn't have too much capacity, so she only stored her armor and sword here. And for some time now, her enchantment also held the keys her master needed.
Holding her weapon with one hand as though it was a thin stick, Gloria narrowed her eyes at the change that had happened to it during her slumber.
Close to her hilt, around the middle of it, her sword shone with a pale emerald light as though someone had embedded it with a big gem. And as she focused on that peculiar part, her armor received some of it, too, flashing with green light.
Her eyes shone with system messages about the new power she had received from her master's lineage… alas, Gloria didn't have time to use and learn about it since she was before the slaughter.
Also, it wasn't like she needed new skills to kill those demons.
She cast those messages aside and broadly smiled…
This time, she didn't voice her skills aloud.
[You have used body enchantment on your eyes and voice.]
Gloria sucked a lot of air, pushing her bountiful chest encased in the black armor up. And as she gathered too much of it in her chest, she exhaled all of it in na one, prolonging scream.
"I have an overdue appointment, so get over here and fight me, little puppies!" Her powerful voice echoed across the chasm, reaching the heart of every demon left behind in prison…
And as they heard her provoking voice and the words she had used, the hearts of the demons jumped to their throats, shoving sharp responses out of their mouths.
"Freak of a fox!"
"Beelzebub's whore! Missing his little dick?! Wanna mine?! Huh?!"
"Fucking butch!"
In the blink of an eye, the chasm became brimmed with howls of the demons. A lot of fools still used their magic skills, throwing various hell-hounds-like skills at Beelzebub's tank. The rest, however, was more experienced and used supportive skills to enhance their strength and speed.
Their humanoid forms altered, turning them into humans with demonic dog heads atop their necks.
All of them either rushed, flew, or jumped at Gloria Cottonfluff.
In front of the vista of the demons madly charging at her, Gloria Cottonfluff recalled the voice of her master she had just heard…
And her mind then drifted to the past.
[If I were to follow his steps, Fantasia would be flooded by rivers of red. That's why I must find a place for myself somewhere else.]
That happened whenever Beelzebub needed to fight, though.
The blood just flowed down… and other than being known as Beelzebub's maid and tank, Gloria received another title that she enjoyed from the bottom of her heart.
In fact, even her skill changed to match it.
[You have activated your body enchantment skill — Blood Maiden.]
Golden sparks then filled her eyes.
[Beelzebub has responded to your choice.]
[You have received your first reward of your legendary quest.]
[Blood Maiden has evolved and become a legendary skill.]
[Blood Maiden Of The Lord Of Souls(Legendary)]
"Ah… has he finally…" Gloria's cheeks flared up with rosy colors.
At the same time, her body became pelted by various demonic skills, which she casually ignored.
But when the first demon slammed his fist against her face, turning her head to the side, Gloria lost her scarlet colors off her face and coldly glared at the man.
She quickly grasped his hand and ripped it off his body.
And her beautiful face once again became painted with red colors… but this time, it was the blood of her enemy.
She then thrust her sword straight into the man's abdomen, killing him.
After taking it out, more of the foreign blood spilled on her.
Her long, straight white hair was like a white canvas waiting to be painted into a bloody river.
Usually, when the first drops of blood fell onto her hair, it took only a few seconds for more of her hair to get wetter with red liquid.
And as Gloria drew a clean and sharp line with her broad sword, cutting the chests of the demons open, it quickly became clear that things remained the same.
Beelzebub's tank started her return back to his side in her famous way!
