Chapter 41: The final battle of the Williard Village (4)

While humanity fought against the demon for their home, Beelzebub decided that it was time to step in.

He was already close to the battleground and could see the black dog's bloodbath from a close range.

The demon had been solely focused on killing the hunters, aware of their potential. Their weapons had enough force to scratch and cause bleeding to his gargantuan form, meaning that there was a chance for the black dog to die from piled-up wounds…

That would be the lamest death a demon could possibly go through…

Understanding the probable chances, the demon stomped on the fighters with his paws and breathed powerful wind waves at rest, either killing them or halting their weapons.

"A big and formidable opponent… I can't defeat him in one move… so I must use the environment and the wounds the villagers had inflicted on him." Beelzebub's left eye rippled with blue light after his loud thoughts.

His fingers then jerked as though he was scattering some powder. Never blinking, The Lord Of Souls carefully but skillfully mapped his magic around the villagers and the demon's sacrifice, conducting his skills like an archmage.

And when the time was right, he revealed to the world what he had schemed.

From the cracks littering the village, water fountained like the world's tears. An abundance of the blue element instantly alarmed the black dog. It flooded him from all directions, severely interrupting his massacre.

The force behind the flood stopped him at once.

That was naturally not all, as Beelzebub stuffed his earth seeds in the cracks. "The Forest of The Lord Of Souls loves to devour the foreign souls the most… but it's not a stingy concept… that can't do with water."

Having an infinite source of mana, Beelzebub nourished his evolved earth seeds with another skill. Much stronger and tougher, the sturdy oak branches extended toward the black dog's paw. Their new evolution skill allowed Beelzebub to cultivate them with water genesis into bountiful and mighty trees.

In this way, Beelzebub strengthened his skill even further.

And those powerful branches coiled around the demon's paw like snakes, only to quickly topple him to the side, hitting the ground with his hulking form. The impact of the fall drew out a painful roar from the demon while the hunters stood stupefied in front of this unexpected aid.

They didn't know who helped them… but it was kinda suspicious.

Aware of things, however, Aric played his role and screamed as though having an order of humanity. "It's our chance! Inflict more wounds! For our families, lovers, and children! For our home!"

"Go!"

"Forward! Forward! Forward!"

"Begone demon!"

At that time, Beelzebub rose to the skies through his earth seed. His tree was small and incomparable to his prime's magic, but that was enough for him.

He straightened his back and glared at the demon.

His lungs grew hotter and hotter.

And then… Beelzebub's green flames escaped his mouth, falling like a dragon's roar at the demonic existence. Before the flames hit the demon, he and David exchanged eye contact.

He was a person they had been searching for… he was the man that helped the villagers become stronger and cured their flaws. And it was the bastard that had fed them the poison!

He was someone they had to get their hands on!

At last, the flames splashed on the demon's hide, severely burning into his flesh.

'A demon… that can cast magic so fast?! What are his origins?!' The black dog, the sacrifice of many demons, had one same thought upon experiencing Beelzebub's spectacle.

He was too good.

Casting skills so fast and even combining them required immense experience and talent. Many mages had various tricks up in their sleeves to trick the system and get round their flaws.

Even the Imperial Arch Mage used the trick.

A quirk that Beelzebub copied from him.

He used the water genesis skill through his eye, drawing his magic into the ravines with nothing but his vision. He scattered earth seeds with his hands and left his fire breath in his lungs.

Only a skilled alchemist could achieve and actually impose such a concept on himself or others. It was exactly that concept that made Beelzebub clash with The Imperial Arch Mage.

The latter wanted Beelzebub's help to improve his magical eye… alas he had shown no respect to the player.

And as that man had been surprised by Beelzebub's might, the same was stored by fate for the Anubis spawn still lying on his side.

Beelzebub raised his chin and right hand like a lofty person, his right eye flashing with a grayish circle.

His nature magic heeded his order, again stretching branches for the demon's wounds. But this time, their arms were as sharp as spears.

If the hunters' weapons could penetrate through the demon's hide, what about the legendary magic of Beelzebub?

No question needed…

The sharp wooden spears easily lodged themselves in their opponent's flesh. Their forms sank into the flesh like parasites, drawing blood and flesh out…

And as Beelzebub's right eye brimmed with a grayish hue like a mist of the dark abyss, his remarkable skill had finally taken place in the world.

Phantoms came out from the wounds.

The whole design of the black dog was based on many sacrifices of the demons. Which meant that there were many souls waiting liable to Beelzebub's Soul Discipline.

Questioning Beelzebub's might and even fearing him from the bottom of their hearts, the demons of the black dog became even more prone to this skill.

Thus, parts of their souls split from their hulking form, becoming Beelzebub's army.

The phantoms looked like grayish hooded specters, having no face. However, their weapons were shaped after their origins, leaving them with sharp claws. Their grunts sounded similar to the demons of Anubis as well.

"Haunt them to your hearts' content." Beelzebub spoke what he believed was his last order, overlooking the phantoms and their claws scratching and digging into the demon's flesh.

And the reason he was convinced of his victory was simple.

Infinite mana points.

His infinite mana was surely his greatest aspect. He could infinitely cast his skills and fuel the already conjured ones through his experienced mind.

With that, he had already prepared more traps should the black dog rise to his feet. His water genesis kept oozing out liquid, making it slippery and hard to move. To say nothing of his earth seeds now being fully grown to thrust into the demon's flesh, Beelzebub's phantoms had already delivered so much damage that Beelzebub's eyes would have been littered with health point loss system messages had he been in the game world.

Moreover, David also had his enslaved soul on standby, waiting to aid him in case things turned bad.

The might of Beelzebub couldn't be stopped.

That was what David believed.

However, the heavens smirked at him.

"Ughhh…"

His heart squeezed so much he thought it'd burst. It was as though the heavenly grip had gone through his ribs to clench his organ and cease his performance. That one flaw… that one weakness Beelzebub hadn't forgotten about and paid attention to was what stopped him and his domination.

The water stopped filling the scene, disappearing into the cracks and the chasm. The trees hidden in the ravines had halted their movement and lost their vigor… and phantoms simply disappeared into oblivion.

Beelzebub was left alone with nothing… even his enslaved soul wasn't by his side to bring him away from the jaws of death…

Seizing their chance, the black dog strained himself to stand up. The world shook as he lifted himself up with his exasperation and fury. Blood rained on shocked villagers, and some of his flesh slapped them straight in the face, telling them how inferior they were.

And as if to further tell about his superiority, he didn't even spare them a glance and rushed at Beelzebub as though his life depended on it.

Clutching his heart and feeling utterly paralyzed, Beelzebub gazed at the abomination charging straight into him.

Their eyes once again exchanged contact.

This time, Beelzebub didn't have that aura of superiority… and confidence.

And then, the black dog's muzzle climbed to Beelzebub's spot… and he opened his jaw, gobbling the demon.

He arched his bestial head back and gulped.

That sound reverberated throughout the village like the sound of judgment.

Beelzebub had been eaten alive by… Anubis' greatest sacrifice.

The demons… had won.
