Third person POV
The next day, at the school rooftop, the girl whom Yuichiro had saved gave Yuichiro a love letter while confessing to him. Atsushi was there but was busy listening to a foreign song on the headset. Yuichiro accepted her offer, but before he could react, the girl left the scene.
Then, Shinoa, who had been watching the whole time, made an audacious comment at this scene.
After she and Yuichiro had a little conversation, Shinoa decided to show off her weapon to him.
Despite the volume on the headset, Atsushi turned around, only to be amazed at Shinoa's weapon, commenting, "Woah, Shinoa-chan, what in the world was that?"
"This is my weapon," Shinoa responded.
"Oh, okay then."
He then turned back and continued singing silently to that foreign song, placing his right hand on his chest to embrace the music.
After that, Yuichiro thought for a bit, before turning towards Atsushi and calling his name.
But, Atsushi can't hear him.
Annoyed by this, Yuichiro shouted, "ATSUSHI-KUN!"
Finally, Atsushi heard that, and he took his headset, before turning around and responded, "Yes?"
"Are you really that obsessed with foreign music?" Yuichiro asked first, before the actual topic.
"Sorry, I just loved it though," Atsushi replied back.
"No wonder you have mediocre scores in Japanese."
"Yeah, what languages you're listening to?" Shinoa asked a question.
"Oh, um," Atsushi responded back, "Tagalog, English, Korean, and Vietnamese."
This really shocked Yuichiro and Shinoa a lot.
"Those languages?"
"Are you planning to travel abroad or something?"
"Not really," Atsushi replied back. "I just loved the way they sound and their writing systems."
"I see," Yuichiro responded. "Well, you should prioritize Japanese more. Otherwise, it will be more difficult for you to communicate with other people."
"Okay, I'll try then."
"Anyhow, what's your reason to join the vampire extermination unit?" Yuichiro switched to the main topic.
"Well," Atsushi responded back while thinking, "to be with you guys."
"You're not that serious about killing vampires?"
"Not really though," Atsushi lied in response, hiding his true intentions and thoughts of switching sides. "I just wanted to give you guys a hand."
"Okay, you're weird, Atsushi-kun," Shinoa responded.
Atsushi then smiled in response, thinking, "Man, that was so close."
