Third person POV
Not long after, Yuichiro and Shinoa had a duel to test each other's skills. Atsushi was watching this with amazement. "Wow, that was so cool," he thought to himself. "I wished I could do that, only if there was a mentor."
Later, while Atsushi, Yuichiro, and Shinoa are walking down the bridge, Yamanaka and his friend come to them to apologize to Yuichiro and Yoichi for their actions towards them and eventually swear their loyalty to them.
To that Atsushi responded, "Seriously?"
"Yes, I'm sorry for everything," Yamanaka replied back. "We'll do anything."
"Come on, you don't have to do anything," Atsushi responded back. "Just forget about what you did to Yuichiro-kun and Yoichi-kun and move on."
After that, one of these delinquents admitted that their friend, Yuuji, entered the Forbidden Chamber and never came out alive.
Atsushi pretended to be shocked to hear that, responding, "What? The Forbidden Chamber?"
Upon hearing that, Shinoa revealed to them what it was and the punishments and consequences of unauthorized entry to it. After that, Shinoa walks away as Yamanaka and his friend beg her for help.
"Wow, what are they thinking?" Atsushi thought.
And so, Atsushi, Yuichiro, Shinoa, and Yoichi decided to help out by actually going there.
Not long after, while they were going to the Forbidden Chamber, Shinoa revealed to them about it and its history and purpose. She also included the fact that it was a training ground for the vampire extermination unit and the school serves as a training ground for the Imperial Demon Army's experiments.
Hearing this, Atsushi, Yuichiro, and Yoichi were mildly shocked by it then, but Yoichi and Atsushi were mildly scared by it.
"I knew it!" Atsushi thought to himself. He then knew that he couldn't hide his true intentions and thoughts from them so he sighed in defeat and said to them, "Guys, I have something to say."
Yuichiro, Shinoa, and Yoichi then turned around towards him.
"What?" Yuichiro asked back.
"I'm thinking about leaving," Atsushi admitted with some guilt.
This shocks them a lot.
"What? Really?" Yuichiro commented.
Atsushi then nodded. "Yes, and I had been thinking about switching to the Red Scarlet Army."
"Are you kidding me?"
"Sorry. I had doubts about what am I doing."
"What is the Red Scarlet Army?" Shinoa asked a question.
"It's a neutral faction," Atsushi explained in response.
"Oh, okay," Shinoa responded.
"Are you going to leave the Imperial Demon Army?" Yoichi asked in worry.
"Well, I don't want to because you guys are my friends," Atsushi responded back, "but I don't want to be experimented so, I'm considering doing it."
"Are you really that dumb?" Yuichiro responded to this.
"Sorry for lying to you guys," Atsushi apologized, "but even if I leave, I still cared for you guys then."
"Wow, what a way to cover up your intentions," Yuichiro commented.
"Hyakuya-san, that's not nice," Yoichi said to Yuichiro in response. "Just let him do as he please."
Turning towards Yoichi, Yuichiro responded, "Why? You're taking his side?"
"No, he just wanted to switch, that's all," Yoichi replied back.
"Oh really? You're leaving too?"
"That's not what I meant!"
Then, Shinoa couldn't stand it, so she said to them, "That's enough, you two. If Atsushi-kun wants to do that, then he will."
Upon hearing that, Yuichiro, Atsushi, and Yoichi looked at her in response.
"Atsushi-kun, you said the reason why you joined the vampire extermination unit is to be with us, right?" Shinoa continued.
"Yes, but that was a lie," Atsushi confessed. "The truth is, I don't want to be in this unit, but Guren-san included me even though I didn't do anything."
"What? Really?" Yuichiro asked.
Atsushi then nodded. "Yes, and I want to switch sides, and I think my time in this school will be over soon."
Hearing this, Yoichi became emotional and gave Atsushi a deep hug saying, "If you want to, please don't forget about us."
"Don't worry, I won't," Atsushi replied back to him.
After that, Yoichi discharged from hugging and wiped his tears with his hands.
"Well, if you want to, then I'll allow it," Shinoa said to Atsushi, "only if you don't forget about us."
Delighted by this, Atsushi bowed his head deeply in gratitude and responded, "Thank you so much! I'll do just that!"
He then gets up from bowing.
"You're welcome," Shinoa responded with a smile.
"Man, she's so nice," Atsushi thought to himself. "I will keep my promise."
