Jade sneered as she stood in front of the airport. It has been a week since she got here and everyday she comes here at dawn and waits till sunset but never find the car she had been looking for. Cabs passed by but she wasn't looking for any of them, she was looking specifically for the cab who started all this mess.
"Ah, can someone help me hail a cab?" An old feminine voice asked slowly from behind Jade.
Jade turned around and saw an old woman dragging a suitcase behind her, Jade turned around wanting to ignore the old lady.
"Ha, help the needy." Jade sighed.
"If mom was here she would have helped, right?... Fine." Jade turned to the old woman and walked towards her.
"Here, let me help you." Jade tucked her dyed blond hair behind her ear, she took the suitcase from the old lady and held her hand.
It was long before Jade hailed a cab and helped the old lady get in.
"Oh dear, thank you, child. You would live happily forever, follow your heart, my dear child." The old woman expressed her gratitude with a smile.
Jade quietly watched the cab leave the scoffed.
"Happily forever, huh? Thank you but I'm already following my heart."
After a few hours of waiting around, the sun was already setting and Jade was getting ready to leave but an overly familiar yellow and blue cab that was a nightmare to Jade stopped by.
"Finally."
Just like the last time she saw it, the car had a cross design at the back. Now that Jade thought about it, airport cabs had no flashy designs or stickers since there belong to companies and not private individuals.
"Tsk, come right to your doom." Jade grinned, she waved at the cab.
"Where to, ma'am?"
"Oh my, I'm sorry sir but I'm new here and I happened to have lost my wallet, so I can't stay in a hotel. Can you take me to a place where I can spend the night?" Jade blinked innocently and twirled her dyed blond hair. An important reason wasn't needed, someone looking for a place to spend the night was an easy catch for this traffickers and just like Jade thought he fell right into the trap.
"Of course, why won't I help an innocent lady? Get in."
Jade sneered internally and got into the cab, the cab driver was too stupid to be suspicious of her.
"How did I get trafficked by this mongrel in the past?" Jade scoffed and rolled her eyes internally.
"How did you loose your wallet?"
Small talks, huh?
"It was stolen with my luggages, just leaving me my hand bag." Jade lightened her accent and her voice.
"Oh sorry, of course. This place isn't safe, especially at night, good thing you met me." The man chuckled.
He sure knows how to sugercoat his words to make him sound cool and trustworthy.
"Hehe, oh yes. It's feels nice to see good people here but if I may ask where are you taking me to?"
"Oh, there's a small inn some miles away."
"But, I can't pay."
"Oh, no worries, lady. It's all good, I've got you covered." The man smiled.
"Oh, thank you, dear sir." Jade acted sweetly, ignoring the fear that was beginning to creep in, her head spun and she felt the urge to throw up.
"Get it together, Jade!" She murmured.
"Huh? Did you say something?" The man glanced at her from the mirror.
"No, no at all."
A small inn,
"We are here." The man announced.
Jade got out of the car and closed her eyes, the inn was still as it was seven years ago when she last saw it.
Jade held her hand bag and clutched it tightly, the inn was the only building in this area, the dark sky made the place even more eerie.
"Is there a problem?"
Jade turned to the man who had been staring at her, she forced a smile and shook her head.
"Alright then, let's go in."
Jade quietly followed behind him, she looked around while the man was booking a room for her. The last time Jade came here she was soaking wet and pretty occupied to notice that the inn had few customers, even though she noticed it would have been easy to pass of as just a coincidence or maybe because the inn was far from where people mostly visited.
Her train of thoughts was interrupted when the man came up to her.
"I'll take you to the room, follow me." He said.
Jade glanced at the innkeeper before following after the man.
The man stopped in front of a door, he turned around with a smile and gave her the keys.
"In case you need anything, inform the lady downstairs."
"Ha, thank you so much, sir."
"No, no, no. You really shouldn't thank me." The man waved his hands and walked away.
Jade watched him walk away before muttering, "Of course, I shouldn't thank you."
Jade opened the door and entered the room, it was the same room she used seven years ago. Jade walked in, she held her head to stop it from spinning, the traumatic memories overlapped with the present.
She walked to the telephone on the table but just like last time, it had been disconnected.
Jade scoffed, she remember when she ran to the telephone and tried to call the cops, all the tears she shed that day and how much she begged.
"I cried so much then, now it's your turn."
Jade picked up her hand bag and brought out two pistols, she gathered the bullets for reload.
Jade sighed, she had been holding back from putting a bullet in the skull of that cab driver.
Carrying or purchasing arms were illegal but acquiring it in a country of crime like this was easy peasy.
She loaded the guns with a large grin.
"Got you."
