Cruella blinked severally just to be sure she wasn't hallucinating. How could she possibly be in Greenville when she went no where near the borderline? She had initially planned on returning after taking care of Maeve and Ethan but now she was finally back, she wasn't happy.
“How long has it been? Two years?” She heard an unfamiliar voice and turned around to see an elderly woman.
“Who are you?” She asked with a frown.
The lady smiled at her and all of a sudden, she began glowing. The radiant was too bright that Cruella had to cover her eyes and when it stopped, she opened it back.
Her eyes widened on seeing the young woman before her. She was clothed in a white stainless garment but it still didn't hide her perfect figure. Her hair was no longer grey like it was when she was an elderly woman but now silver and it was very long, stopping at her knees. Cruella knew she had seen this cave before when she was younger but never asked about it since she was more concerned with getting her powers. This was the dark cave, the home of the silver haired witch.
“This.. you're a witch! A silver haired witch!” Cruella exclaimed with a smile on her face. She had never seen a silver haired before and she was the most beautiful woman she had ever seen. It was indeed true what they said about silver haired witches not ageing but they are able to disguise themselves into whomever they want in other to protect their identities.
“That is correct Cruella and this is my home but I'm sure you know that already since you've been here before.” The woman replied with a smile.
“How did you know my name? And how did you know I've been here before?” Cruella asked with furrowed brows.
“It seems you have forgotten a lot about your world since you got banished into the human world.” The woman replied and Cruella frowned. How did she know she had been banished?
“How come you know so much about me and I don't know a thing about you?” She asked, taking a step back.
“You're right child and there's no need to be afraid. I am on your side here.” The woman replied and stretched her hand towards the caves.
“Come and I will tell you everything you need to know.”
“There is no way I'm going in there with you. You can tell me whatever out here.” Cruella said and the women laughed sweetly. Somehow that laughter made Cruella's heart flutter. It was so friendly and her voice so melodious.
“For someone with the powers of a witch, werewolf and vampire, you shouldn't be afraid of a dark cave or a silver haired witch.” She said and Cruella bit her lower lip.
Even though she had those powers, she still needed a lot of training before she will be able to use them well.
“You also know about my powers so why should I trust that you're not an enemy?” Cruella asked even though a part of her already trusted the witch. Her aura alone was friendly but from what she went through in the human world with Ethan, it was best not to trust quickly.
“I understand your doubt but I'm nothing like that human boyfriend of yours. I wouldn't have brought you here if I wanted to hurt you.” She said and Cruella frowned.
She didn't want to remember Ethan or Maeve anymore. In fact, she didn't want to remember anything about the human world anymore since she was back in Greenville. They had taken away the only person that mattered to her and so she had no business with them anymore.
“Come child, we must go in now before you're seen.” The woman said and began walking into the cave not waiting for Cruella anymore.
Cruella was reluctant for a while but decided to trust her instinct which was telling her to go into the cave and so she went in, trying to catch up with the witch.
The name of the cave wasn't exaggerated at all. It was called dark cave because one couldn't see a thing in there, not even vampires with their super visions. It was dark because of the spell casted by the silver haired witches that lived long before. They did it to protect themselves from enemies. Anyone who came into the caves uninvited would be lost forever in the darkness because they won't be able to see their way out anymore.
“How many silver haired live here?” Cruella asked the witch as they walked further into the cave. She was able to see thanks to the glowing body of the witch.
“Just me.” The woman replied shortly.
“Just you? I thought the cave was the home for silver haired witches? Or did they move out?” Cruella asked even though she knew her question was ridiculous.
“How long do you think this cave has been here?” Came the woman's question and Cruella was thoughtful for a while.
“Umm, I don't know maybe twenty to forty years?” She tried guessing and the woman laughed shortly, making Cruella smile. Her laughing voice is very pleasing to the ears.
“So you think I'm thirty to forty years old as well, right?”
“It's hard to tell your age since you never age.” Cruella replied and the woman smiled.
“Well that is correct. We don't age but that doesn't mean we don't die. This cave has been here since the beginning of time and several silver haired witches have lived and died here. It's our ancestral home.” She explained and Cruella shook her head in amazement.
“I never knew that.” She confessed.
“That's because these things aren't thought in school. They only teach you how to use your power and if you have non, they'll banish you into the human world.”
“How do you know so much?” Cruella asked and the woman stopped walking. She turned to Cruella with a smile, raising her hand and the wall behind her suddenly moved.
Cruella widened her eyes in shock at the sight before her. It was a whole new world inside a small cave. It had several small hut like buildings and everywhere was covered in grass and beautiful flowers except the road paths that led to each hut.
“Welcome to my home Cruella.” The woman said as she led Cruella to a particular hut.
“So you live here alone? Don't you get lonely?” Cruella asked and the woman faced her.
“I don't have time to think about my company since I'm always watching.”
“Watching what?” Cruella questioned.
“You know my name and probably everything about me but I know nothing about you. At least tell me your name.” She added and the woman smiled.
“I am Gwen, the current queen of the witches.” Gwen said and Cruella's jaw dropped.
“Queen? I never knew witches had queens.”
“Just as werewolf have packs which are led by the alphas and vampires have elites which are like royals to their kind, so do witches have queens.” Gwen said as they entered the hut.
It was just a simple room with a small bed at one corner.
“So what happens when you die? Your children take over?” Cruella asked and Gwen laughed again. The third laughter now just because of Cruella's funny questions.
“It doesn't work that way. Even if we have children, this position isn't inherited. We are chosen by the goddess of power if found worthy.” She explained and Cruella bounced her head. She really knew nothing about the witches and would love to know all there is to know.
“Can you tell me more, please.” She said politely and Gwen bounced her head.
“I can and will but not now. First, there's another story of very importance which I must tell you.” Gwen said and Cruella furrowed her brows.
“Does it have to do with why I have my abilities?” She asked and Gwen bounced her head.
“You are special Cruella and special people like you need proper guidance.”
“Two years ago I was called useless and banished into another world. How is that special?” Cruella asked with a frown.
“We all have had to bear crosses Cruella and yours is just going to make you stronger.” Gwen explained.
“I don't even know why I have powers now and not then when I needed them. If I had it then, I would have never been sent away and treated like trash!” She snapped. Remembering all that happened during her childhood made her angry. She didn't even want to go back to her adoptive mother at this point. She would rather stay in this cave for as long as she lived than go back to the people who made her life miserable.
“Let me tell you a story Cruella and then you'll understand why you're here right now.” Gwen said and Cruella bounced her head, willing to listen.
