Gwen sighed as she watched Cruella slumber. She could vividly see the pain on her face, it was obvious she was hurting and she wished she could have prevented it all from happening but she couldn't do that. She couldn't mess with the future by preventing the past.
She gently stroked Cruella's hair, brushing a strand behind her ear and Cruella stirred a bit before opening her eyes.
For a split second she wanted to ask where she was but suddenly remembered.
“Good morning.” Gwen greeted with a smile. Cruella slowly raised herself from the bed, glancing around the room.
“Is it morning already? I didn't even sleep long.” She said with a sigh and Gwen chuckled.
“Well it is and you should get changed, I brought you clean clothes.” She said pointing at the neatly folded clothes on the small couch.
“Why are you being so nice to me?” Cruella suddenly asked, taking Gwen by surprise.
“I have no specific reason dear. I just want you to know you can trust me after all that's happened to you.” Gwen replied and Cruella bounced her head.
“About what you said yesterday, I thought about it..” She started and Gwen looked at her with keen interest, waiting fot her to conclude.
“How do I do it?”
“Do what?” Gwen asked with furrowed brows.
“I want to get revenge for my parents. If it were because of Greenville I won't be bothered but like you said, my parents death can't be in vain. So how do I get revenge?” She asked and Gwen smiled.
“By becoming the Tribrid.” She answered
“I thought I'm already a Tribrid since I have all three powers?” Cruella furrowed her brows.
“Yes that is correct, you are a Tribrid by name but not by strength. If you want to get revenge on the queen, you have to be strong and to do that, you need training.” Gwen explained and Cruella bounced her head.
“So when do I start training?” She asked, getting up from the bed and walking towards the couch to pick up the clothes.
“I'm glad you asked. You'll be attending Greenville academy from now on. There, you can learn how to use your abilities well and be safe from the queen's reach. If she finds out you're alive, I'm sure she won't stop until you're dead.” Gwen said and frowned a bit.
“My mother sent me there once when I was a kid. She thought I was a witch since I was neither a wolf nor a vampire. I didn't have a pleasant experience there.” She muttered and Gwen sighed.
“Cruella, if you're to ever be strong in the future, you need to let go of the past. Don't cling to sad memories and pain, let them make you stronger instead. That's the only way for you to move forward.”
“When do I start? There's no time at hand anymore.” Cruella asked and Gwen smiled, happy she finally agreed. Everything was happening just as she had seen it. Everything was falling into place and she would gladly play her role well to make sure that future is accomplished.
“Tomorrow. You can use today to prepare your mind..”
“I want to start today.” Cruella cut her off.
“You do realize that you'd be living amongst other supernatural beings right? You haven't been around any since your banishment.” Gwen said and Cruella shut her eyes briefly before opening them and exhaling.
“I'm ready. This is my destiny after all, there's no need delaying it.” She said and Gwen bounced her head.
“If you say so.” She smiled and walked out of the hut. Cruella followed her and gasped on the view that welcomed her.
She had seen this place at first with the dim light of the night but now that the sun was out, it was even more magical.
“Why are there so many huts here?” She asked Gwen.
“I once told you that so many silver haired lived and died here. Each time a witch is chosen to become the next silver haired, a new hut appears. It's like our shrine.” Gwen explained and Cruella shook her head in disbelief.
“If you're four thousand years old and there are so many huts here, how long has the world been in existence?” She asked as she tried to count the number of huts.
“Firstly, I'm four thousand and forty-four years old and secondly, no one knows how long the world has been in existence. We just begin to count from the day we were born.” She said and finally stopped in her tracks, turning to Cruella.
“You can have a bath here.” She said and that's when Cruella noticed the stream ahead.
“Even the water looks magical here.” she gushed and Gwen laughed a bit. She's already taken a liking to Cruella.
“You're very funny. Meet me back at the hut for breakfast and then we'll be off.” She said and Cruella bounced her head before taking off her clothes. She stared at her clothes for a while.
It still had a stain of blood on it. Ethan's blood. She immediately threw it away not wanting to have any possessions from the human world. She slowly walked into the river, enjoying the feel of the cold water against her tensed up body.
Soon, she was back at the hut and Gwen served her pepperoni pizza which was the worst choice of breakfast but she still ate it happily. After that, Gwen took her to the school as planned.
Cruella's jaw dropped the moment they entered the large building. The first thing that caught her attention was the guy who's feet were above the ground.
“He..he's fucking flying!” She exclaimed and Gwen chuckled.
“Stop showing off already and get down here!” They both heard a feminine voice yell and Cruella turned her head to see the beautiful brunette staring scornfully at the guy.
He immediately dropped to the ground with a displeased look and she rolled her eyes.
“Thanks for the embarrassment.” He said and she suddenly smiled, facing Cruella.
“Hey there newbie! Don't mind him, he's a show off.” She said but Cruella just stared at her, not saying a word.
“I'll be back, you should get to know more people while I'm gone.” Gwen said and left her alone with the girl.
“Is she your mum?” She asked and Cruella bounced her head. Yes, they had agreed to keep her identity a secret for now. They can know she's a Tribrid but no one can know she's royal blood. Gwen had changed her appearance as usual before they left so as to make it more believable.
Also, no one had seen a silver haired witch in decades and she chose to keep it that way for her own safety.
“She seems nice. I'm Carly and this is my idiot best friend Sebastian.” Carly introduced, stretching out her hand to Cruella. Cruella reluctantly accepted it so as not to appear rude.
She didn't want to make a bad first impression but she didn't also want to becomes friends with Carly so soon. She didn't want to trust so easily anymore.
She turned to Sebastian and he also stretched out his hand. She accepted it slowly, staring into his green eyes. The moment their hands connected, Cruella felt something stir up within her. Something she couldn't decipher and she could tell Sebastian felt it too because he held her hand a little while longer even when she wanted to pull away.
Cruella blinked immediately to distract herself and retracted her hand from Sebastian. Whatever that was, she didn't want to feel it again. She was here to train and get revenge and nothing would get in her way. She won't give anyone the chance to hurt her anymore, she won't let herself fall in love until she had accomplished her goal.
“Nice to meet you, both.” She said and turned her attention to Carly.
“So what are your powers? That would help me do my job better.” She said and Cruella furrowed her brows.
“Your job?” She asked and Carly smiled.
“Yes. I'll be your chaperone until you get use to this environment. Also I did a little snooping when I heard we were having a new student and it turns out, you're my roommate.” Carly gushed and Cruella smiled slightly.
It'll be best to have Carly as her roommate since she seems nice.
“What are your powers?” She threw the question back at Carly.
“Oh, I'm a werewolf. A beta.” Carly said with a wink and let her eyes glow to show Cruella. It glowed bright gold before turning back to it's normal black color and Cruella smiled.
“That's great. You're part of pack right?” She asked and Carly bounced her head.
“The Red moon pack. You can also be part of it if you pass the test, that is if you're a wolf.” She said and Cruella bounced her head.
“What about you?” She asked Sebastian who's been staring at her this entire time, trying to figure out what had happened between them a while ago.
“Hey Mr love struck! Snap out of it!” Carly yelled and Sebastian was brought back to reality.
“What was that?” He asked and Cruella and Carly laughed at him.
“She was asking about your powers but it seems you've gotten new ones, love god.” Carly teased and Sebastian glared at her.
“I'm a witch.” He replied and Cruella smiled. That explains the color of his eyes.
“You still haven't told us about yours.” Carly asked but before Cruella could say anything, someone spoke up.
“She's a Tribrid.” They heard the feminine voice and they all turned around to see another brunette but she had big brown eyes unlike Carly.
“Who is she?” Cruella asked Carly.
“Trouble.” Carly replied with a scornful look.
