“Margery became the princess and when Arthur was crowned the new king of Greenville, she became the queen.” Gwen replied and Cruella smiled.
“And they had a kid, right? The kid grew up and got married and had other children and that's where I fall under right? That's why I'm a Tribrid right?” Cruella asked all at once.
“Well you're right about one thing. They had a kid but not under the circumstances you imagined.” Gwen said and Cruella frowned a bit.
“So, what happened?”
“King Arthur never got to meet his child in fact, he died mysteriously a year after his marriage to the late queen.” Gwen replied.
“How did he die?” Cruella asked curiously.
“No one knows. They couldn't tell what killed him.”
“But you should know right? You could see everything.” Cruella said and Gwen bounced her head.
“Yes, I could see everything but I don't know how to describe what I saw that day so it's best to leave it as a mysterious death.” Gwen said and Cruella bounced her head.
“So how did the queen cope after that?” She asked.
“Margery found out she was pregnant three days after the announcement of king Arthur's death. She told the royal counsel and they decided it was best to keep it a secret until the safe delivery of the baby but Margery insisted on telling her sister. An invitation was sent to Sheila, requesting her presence at the palace but she turned it down even though they told her about her sister's condition.”
“Why would she do that?” Cruella asked with a frown. Even if Sheila was angry about the prince, it wasn't rigjt to abandon her sister at times like that.
“I can only see Cruella, I can't read minds.” Gwen replied with a chuckle and Cruella bounced her head.
“Margery sent for her best friend after her sister turned her down and Elsa immediately ran off to the palace. She took care of Margery until the day of her labor.” Gwen said and Cruella's mood suddenly changed.
Elsa reminded her of Swayer, always there for the ones they love even when everyone else turns their back on them.
“Did Margery have a safe delivery?” She asked trying to distract herself from any negative thoughts.
“Yes she did. She gave birth to a beautiful baby girl.”
“I'm still trying to understand how I'm related to this story. It seems to have a happy ending aside king Arthur's death.” Cruella said with a frown.
“Who said the story is over? Even till this point, the story is yet to have an end.” Gwen replied and Cruella furrowed her brows.
“How do you mean?” She asked curiously.
“Having my abilities comes with responsibilities Cruella. One mustn't reveal too much to avoid changing the future. I can only tell you the past but I am not allowed to reveal the future, just fragments of it.” Gwen said and Cruella sighed.
“So where do I fall in? Past or future?”
“The past always finds it's way to the future, either through memories or physically.” Gwen replied.
“What is that suppose to mean?” Cruella asked as she was beginning to feel perplexed. Her only concern was to know how she was connected to the story and why she was a Tribrid and also why her powers had manifested so late.
“It means you should let me finish the story.” Gwen said and Cruella bounced her head.
“A week after the child's birth, the palace got invaded by Sheila and her tropes. All the while she had been away, she gathered witches and werewolves to help her take the throne from her sister.”
“So that's why she had refused to see Margery on the invitation. She's not fit to be called an elder sister.” Cruella scoffed.
“If you keep interrupting me, I might have to finish the story tomorrow as it's getting late.” Gwen said and Cruella gave her an apologetic look.
“The royal guards fought well but fell and Sheila took over the palace, locking up Margery in the dungeon. However, Elsa had taken the baby the moment Margery got captured and she fled the palace. When Sheila found out about this, she sent the guards after her. Elsa was a witch and had no super speed and so the guards caught up to her in no time.” Gwen paused to make sure Cruella was still listening.
“Go on.” Cruella said with a smile.
“However, in an attempt to escape them, she entered the dark forest which was forbidden to outsiders.”
“I thought there was peace in Greenville? Why was the forest now forbidden?” Cruella asked with furrowed brows.
“The truce was to stop the ruthless killing of one another but there were still boundaries made. Just like this cave is forbidden to outsiders, so is the dark forest. It is a sacred ground and the home of the white wolves.” Gwen explain and Cruella bounced her head.
“Elsa succeeded in saving the baby at the cost of her life and Sheila beheaded her own sister in front of the people of Greenville. She became queen after and even though no one loved her, they had to obey and respect her since she sat on the throne.” Gwen said and Cruella sighed.
“So the child grew up without parents?” She asked sadly.
“Of course not. She had a mother and siblings, lots of them but she was treated differently. She was raised by a wolf but she had no wolf side.”
“I know how she must have felt. It's really isolating.” Cruella said and Gwen smiled, knowing she was nearing the end of the story and the final bombshell.
“Yes, indeed. The child grew up powerless amongst supernaturals. Her mother didn't want to give up on her and tried sending her to witch school just incase she was a witch but nothing happened.” Gwen said and Cruella frowned a bit. Everything that happened to the girl was exactly what happened to her. Was this some kind of a predestination?
“How long ago was this, I mean the story of queen Margery.” Cruella asked.
“Four decades ago.” Gwen answered, wondering if Cruella had figured it out.
“And how old were you then? If you don't mind.” she said and Gwen smiled.
“Let me see... I was four thousand years old I think.” She said and Cruella's jaw dropped.
“Four? Thousand?” She asked not being able to believe her words. She looked like a woman in her early thirties so how can she possibly be four thousand years old?
“Well back then I was but now I'm four thousand and forty-four.” Gwen replied and Cruella widened her eyes.
“You look like you're thirty years old!”
“Yes Cruella. We stop ageing once we get to thirty but I don't think my age is the focus here.” Gwen said and Cruella remembered what they were talking about before.
“So where is this girl now? She should be all grown up by now.”
“Yes that's right. She's all grown up though she has a lot to learn and she inherited her parents abilities all together.” Gwen replied.
“Which means, I'm not the only Tribrid. Do you know where she is? Maybe she can teach me how to control and use my powers right.” Cruella said with a smile. At least she won't be alone anymore.
“Cruella, I thought by now you must have figured everything out but it seems I was wrong. The girl had no powers until she was banished from Greenville into the human world and she still didn't have her powers until her death.” Gwen said and Cruella frowned.
She shook her head, not believing the girl Gwen was talking about was actually herself.
“This must be some kind of predestination or something.” She said but Gwen frowned, the first she's ever done which was really scary.
“That girl is you Cruella. You are the Tribrid and the daughter of the late king and queen. You are of royal blood and it's your destiny to rule Greenville.” She said but Cruella suddenly burst out laughing which confused Gwen since she hadn't said anything funny.
“I'm sorry but I'm going to have to stop you there. You said the girl died but I didn't die, i survived that fire...”
“You died Cruella! You died in that fire but you came back to life. The only possible reason why you didn't get your powers sooner might have been because they were sealed and the spell must have broken after your death. Cecilia must have sealed them to protect you!” Gwen snapped.
“So what now? I'm just supposed to go charging at some queen I don't know requesting for my birth right? I got humiliated by the same people who I call my family! The same people who I'm meant to rule turned their backs on me and sent me packing simply because I was different! Let them have the throne, I don't care.” Cruella said angrily.
After everything she's been through, after the humiliation. This would never have happened if Sheila hadn't killed her parents but it doesn't change the fact that the people of Greenville hurt her.
“I know you're hurting child but are you really going to let your parents die in vain?” Gwen asked and Cruella's eyes suddenly turned bright gold.
“You could have had a family who love you. You could have never been disgraced by those humans if Sheila hadn't killed you parents.”
“You said my father died mysteriously so why are you pinning it on Sheila now?” Cruella asked. Her eyes had turned back to their normal color.
“Because she also had a hand in it but I can't explain how. You're destined for greatness Cruella, you're destined to save Greenville.”
“My destiny changed the day I got sent into the human world. I want nothing to do with Greenville anymore.” Cruella said and walked out of the hut.
