According to the memories of the previous owner, she was in the hospital because she got hit by a car while crossing the road.
The previous owner thus died on the hospital bed after the accident just before she transmigrated, and Iris replaced her soul.
…
Suddenly the door of the ward opened, and a man with black hair, brown eyes, and a small beard, looking in his early forties strode inside. He was wearing a white coat and had a stethoscope hanging around his neck, which indicated him being a doctor in the hospital. When the man saw that Iris had woken up there was surprise written on his face which soon changed into a pleasant smile.
He walked near the bed "I am your attending doctor, Dr.Smith. Do you remember what happened before fainting?"
"I was crossing the road when a car came out of nowhere and hit me." Iris's voice was soft like a weak kitten, gentle like a flowing river however it was a little hoarse.
"How are you feeling? Does it hurt anywhere?"
"no, it doesn't" After pursing her lips for a moment, she said "Can I have some water?"
'For goodness gracious, she was thirsty all right, God knew how long this body didn't drink water, her throat was really dry.'
The doctor smiled and picked a jug from the table and filled a glass of water before handing it over to Iris.
Iris quickly took the glass and gulped it down before handing it back.
The doctor then said, "You are special, you should be happy. You were not supposed to wake up for at least a week or so. unexpectedly you woke up early. It's a miracle."
Iris suddenly smiled revealing two dimples, that smile was beautiful just as if a gentle breeze had brushed past. When she thought of the word miracle, it indeed ironically suited her present situation. It indeed was a miracle how she got reborn.
It's a pity the doctor didn't see that smile or else he would have been stunned by Iris's beauty.
"Since you've woken up. I would do a check-up on your present condition. if everything goes well you can go home in about 2 days." the doctor's words snapped Iris out of her thoughts.
"The hospital would give a call to your brother telling him you have woken up."
Iris just merely nodded and let the doctor check her condition. The doctor was pleasantly surprised to see that the situation was much better than he had expected it to be.
About half an hour later the ward was again empty with only Iris lying on the bed.
Iris stood up and went to the only cupboard in the room and opened it, sure enough, there were some patient uniforms in there.
She took one and went to the bathroom to freshen up. It had been days not only in this but even in her previous life since she took a shower.
After getting fresh Iris slowly laid down on her bed and fell into a daze.
Even though she didn't freak out upon realizing that she was reborn that didn't mean she was okay. It took her about half a day to accept her situation.
Soon Iris drifted to sleep.
