CHAPTER 7: AARON
With the memories of the original owner, Iris went from the hospital to her house. It could not even be called a proper house it was just a small apartment with 1 kitchen, a living room, 2 rooms, and a common bathroom, just the basic necessities.
Even though the Apartment was small Iris and her brother whose name is Aaron Jones did not have a lot of things, therefore, making the small apartment look spacious. The color of the house was mostly light and pastel giving it a very homely feeling.
God knows how much Iris loved the house. In her previous life even though she had mansions the size which made people blinded, they made her feel lonely with no one living in them and only the servants cleaning them regularly. They never gave her a sense of home or belonging.
However, now seeing a house that made her feel like she was important and belonged somewhere felt really good.
She was really looking forward to her new life.
She knew that her brother could not visit her in the hospital because he had to go to the university and even after that he had a job to do to keep the house working.
He would stay in the dorms of the university during weekdays and come home only on weekends to visit his sister thus he was coming this evening as it was Friday.
Iris quickly went around the house giving herself a tour and a better understanding of the structure.
Seeing all the lovable things her heart was getting moved, maybe just maybe it wouldn't be so bad to give herself a last chance.
She busied herself in the kitchen to make a delicious dinner for her brother.
Brother this word made her remember him. He must be grieving and would be so sad to know about her death. She would surely tell him that she was fine and was living a good life as the reborn Iris. However, it was not the right time to meet him.
She still had to settle into her new life and make some preparations before meeting him however, she just could not keep it a secret from him for so long after all she would not able to see him sad and dejected.
…
EVENING
LUOZHEN APARTMENT
TRING! TRING! TRING!
The bell to the apartment rang.
Iris went out of her room to open the door.
As soon as the door opened, she was engulfed in a big tight hug. If she had not stopped herself, she would have reflexively thrown him above her shoulder. The man who had rung the bell was hugging her so tightly it was getting hard for her to breathe. Don't know if it was because he realized he was hugging her too tightly or because he had confirmed that she was ok, but the man loosened his hold on her but still refused to let her go and clung to her like a koala.
"You must be careful the next time"
He finally managed to squeeze this short sentence out of his mouth.
His voice was hoarse however it could not conceal the male magnetic sound it had.
"I was scared, really, really scared. Iris, you are the only one I have left, I can't afford to let anything happen to you. If not for yourself then at least for me take care of yourself, hmm?"
These few sentences were from her brother, yes the man was none other than Iris's brother Aaron Jones, the sentences were full of care that enveloped her heart. Just a sentence that didn't have a hidden meaning, just a sentence that had the pure intention of love and care and her heart melted, this boy reminded her so much of that dork that she was willing to give this man a chance to be her brother.
She would take care of him just the same way she had taken care of her brother in her previous life. She would not let him suffer in this greedy and selfish world. However, nothing comes for free, what she wanted in return was warmth and a family that would not betray her.
