CHAPTER 10: POWER
Since she had just cried her eyes were watery and red.
Her eyes looked innocent and pure as if she did not know the cruelty of the world however after opening her heart it was full of wounds.
Those eyes could really deceive everyone in the world. On top of that, her face was like an ethereal immortal that had descended straight from the heavens. Someone that only knew about heaven and hell was a foreign land for her however, how could anyone know that she not only was born in hell she was raised and died in hell too? She had craved the land known as heaven for so long however, not anymore.
Her heart could not take anything else, she just wanted revenge for her mother and herself and she wanted to live together with her two brothers till where life would lead her to.
After sitting there for half an hour, she looked towards the chrysanthemums. Oh! How she wished these were blooming and not dead.
Even though chrysanthemums represented death there were still alive however after wilting there seemed no hope, she had also died but unexpectedly the died hope of her life had revived. She did not want to die, there were many things she wanted to do. She lifted her hand to caress the flower however something magical happened, as soon as her fingers touched the wilted flower it bloomed.
She was so shocked she jumped in fright stumbled backward and fell on her butt however she was wide-eyed. What had happened? What had just happened? She could not understand.
Was her mind playing tricks on her, she looked at the flower again, no it really was blooming.
Then what had happened?
She just thought of how good it would have been if it was not wilted and now it bloomed as soon as she touched it.
Did this body have any powers? She quickly searched through her memories however nothing like this came up. Did that mean that she got these powers after getting reborn?
What were these powers? could it revive dead things?
The flower was dead but it bloomed after she touched it. She went to another plant, it was a sunflower, she thought of the picture of it blooming and touched it, it happened again, it bloomed.
If she could revive things then could she revive her mother too?
No, this seemed too good to be true. She needed to confirm what these powers did.
She went outside the house and searched for a while. Soon she found a dead pigeon in an alleyway.
She went close to it, she thought of it flying in the sky with its wings spread apart lively and free and then she touched it, however, nothing happened.
She went down on her knees. Reviving was not her power, she could really not save her mother.
'No this was not the time to feel sad' Iris thought.
Her mother was dead, she had to believe it, she could not hang onto it. If she did, it would only bring her pain and suffering that's not what her mother would have wanted.
She slowly got up and went toward the garden of her house.
If her powers were not reviving, was it to change the object to its past self, no, then the pigeon should also have been changed back.
Was it something related to plants?
She could revive plants, maybe that's her power
Could she grow it?
She went near plain soil that was used for growing plants in the garden. She put her palm against the soil and thought of grass. Fresh and green grass that was soft and beautiful. Soon she felt her hands getting ticklish, she slowly opened her eyes only to find grass growing on top of the soil. Her palm as the centre point. The grass was growing in all directions. She lifted her hand up and the grass stopped growing.
She could revive and grow plants.
Could she grow plants in the air without soil?
She thought about grape vines and soon grape vines started coming out of her fingertips she stopped thinking about them and the vine dropped to the floor with a thump.
