Chapter 13 - 13 | Eyes

Livie's eyes snapped towards Lucian who was staring at her with nothing but pure admiration. While Livie had an expression as if she got the biggest shock of her life. "Huh?" Not knowing how to reply, she mumbled causing Lucian's bubble of imagination to burst. He blinked his eyes and chuckle at her acts. "I said can we have a coffee?" He repeated his question as Livie's expression didn't change at all. Lucian realised what she must be thinking and laugh at her making a frown appear on her forehead and her lips curled in a pout. "Why are you laughing?" Her sulking tone made Lucian aww at her cute face but he contained his normal look. "Miss Livie, why are you reacting like I just ask you to marry me?" He giggles in between his words and Livie felt her cheeks burning with embarrassment. Her mouth parted to defend herself but stop when she saw Lucian covering his face with his hands trying not to make it obvious that he was laughing. Livie got more embarrassed as she clutch her fist and shook her head. "It's not like that. It was so sudden that I got flabbergasted." She said after clearing her throat. Finally, Lucian stopped laughing and looked at her. "Is that so?" His tone held a mischievous hint which did nothing but made Livie redder than she already was.

"Excuse me. Can I have two coffees, please?" He raised his hand while looking at Tina who returned a smile and nodded her head before glancing at Livie who refused to look up from the table. Tina shrugged her shoulders and went to bring the order while Lucian turned his attention back to Livie. "Miss Livie. I was joking." Lucian chuckle seeing how she didn't budge her gaze from the table. Livie finally raised her eyes to stare at Lucian through her blue eyes which stopped his world. The blue hue in her eyes looked like the reflection of a blue sky falling in the dark see making it look like the sky has stepped on the earth. Lucian took in a shallow breath while staring deeply into her eyes. Livie who was embarrassed until now, felt flustered by the intimate gaze of Lucian. First time in her life a simple glance from a male made her so much nervous. She had never felt like this ever before. And the fact that she forget how to behave in front of him made her even more confused. She knew she was staring back and wanted to break eye contact. But something in Lucian's eye had held her gaze on him. Something in his eyes was refusing her to move her pupils and look anywhere else. As if they were the only ones in the whole universe and no one else was there.

"Your order, sir." Tina placed the coffee on the table making them both flinch and divert their eyes away from each other. Lucian cleared his throat while smiling at Tina and thanking her. Tina, again looked at Livie who was lost in her thoughts. She nudges her knee with her leg making Livie look up at Tina. Tina asked her about Lucian by secretly pointing towards him to which Livie looked at Lucian. But as soon as his eyes raised to look at her, she abruptly looked back at Tina and shook her head before shooing her away. Tina with a grumpy face walked away but didn't stop glancing at them from time to time. After Tina left, Lucina placed his cup down and looked at Livie who was spinning her spoon in her coffee. "Miss Livie has anyone ever told you how beautiful your eyes are?" He said out of nowhere making Livie stop her acts and again look at Lucian but this time she chuckled. "Yeah. Quite a lot." Livie said the truth as there were always times when people would out of nowhere come to her just to tell her how her eyes look beautiful and different. Lucian also smile at her and bobbed his head. "Obviously. No doubt." As he said it, Livie looked towards him and he felt the need to let her know how captivating her eyes are, even though she had heard it already. "But does anyone ever told you how they look?" He asks now resting his chin on his palm as he tilted his head a little while looking at her. Livie's expression told him that she was curious to know what he wants to say which made his smile wider as he continued.

"Your eyes remind me of Blue Moon." He said with a tender tone and soft utterance. Livie's eyes soften upon hearing his words. "Blue Moon?" She mumbles with a weird compliment. Lucian just nodded his head. "They look like the shadow of Blue Moon falling in the dark sea, illuminating it in his light as the sea moved with calmness hiding the deep and dark secret under it." Livie stared at Lucian without blinking hearing him describe her eyes which she was aware of but felt like she unfold for the first time. "They hold the power to absorb the darkness from one's life. And brighten it with their light. Just like a Blue Moon." Lucian unwillingly held Livie's hand resting on the table and caressed the back of her hand with his thumb. The little action of his left Livie shudders at the gentle yet cold touch. Her eyes flicker from his eyes to his hand which was now in his cage. Livie couldn't understand what was happening, but she felt as if her heart which was silent until now, suddenly started beating. Her soul which was hidden somewhere inside her, realised where she belongs to. And her body felt the warm feeling she never felt before. She experienced something very different and special. Her body reacted on her own as she took a deep shivering breath trying to cope with her actions and mind. On the other hand, Lucian got everything that was happening. He could feel his mate's heartbeats and the soft bond between them getting strong. He no more needs any proof that she is, indeed his soulmate. His wolf was getting more excited as they spend more time with her.

Lucian's phone rang, causing them both to come back to reality. Livie immediately pulled her hand away from Lucian as her heart raced even more now. Her breathing got a little heavy as she blink her eyes continuously. Lucian sigh before taking out his phone and looking at the caller id and groaning slightly. "What is it, Ryan?" Lucian tried not to sound distressed as he placed his phone on his ear. "Sorry to disturb you Alpha. But there's an emergency. You need to come here." Lucian felt the urgency in Ryan's voice and took a deep breath to control his wolf. "Yeah. I'll be there in a few minutes." He informs before cutting the call and looking towards Livie who had normalized her breathing, but the red tint on her cheek refused to leave. His wolf was squealing and jumping while looking at his mate and feeling her presence. But Lucian needs to leave as it was more important to be with Ryan. "Miss Livie. Thank you for accompanying me to the coffee. But I'm afraid I need to take my leave now. Hope we'll meet again." Saying that Lucian stood up and fixed his coat while Livie stared at him with no movements. "I'll get going then?" Lucian again said making Livie realise that she was staring at him almost shamelessly and stood up too. "Yeah. I....thank you too. For the....coffee." Livie bowed to Lucian and bite her lips for blabbering gibberish in front of him which made Lucian thin his lips to not laugh out loud. "See you again." Lucian turned around and went to the counter and paid the bill. Tina thanked him and he left through the main door. Livie let out a big sigh before plopping herself on the chair. She rubbed her face aggressively thinking about the amount of time she made herself embarrassed in front of Lucian. "I don't even ask to split the bill." She groans while holding her hair. Today the made herself look like a fool in front of Lucian by behaving so creepy and staring at him seamlessly. But his words surely did something to her as she blushed not just because of embarrassment but due to the compliments too.

As she got a hold of herself, Tina came running towards her and took a seat where Lucian was sitting before. "Who was he? What were you guys talking about? And why are you blushing so much?" She threw her questions at Livie to which she just got more embarrassed after recalling everything. "Why am I so dumb?" That's all she could say and again dunk her head on the table with a loud groan making Tina confused. Looking at Livie, Tina couldn't make it if she was flustered or was it something else. Before she could ask any other question, her eyes landed on the abandoned phone on the table. "Is this yours?" Tina asked taking the phone in her hand, and switching it on only to gasp and had her eyes almost pop out of her socket. While Livie lift her head to see what Tina was talking about. Livie's eyes widen as she saw Lucian's phone in Tina's hand. "That's...that's Lucian's phone." Livie abruptly stood from her place and snatched the phone from Tina's hand. Tina who was gasping tried to speak. "Wait-" But Livie had already rushed out of the shop to give the phone back to Lucian.

Thankfully, when Livie came out she saw Lucian standing on the other side of the road about to get in his car. "LUCIAN!!" She called him out causing him to turn around and look at her. She waves her hand which was holding his phone in the air making Lucian realise that she was holding his phone as his hand went to his pocket. He chuckles before signing her that he's coming there by his finger but Livie shook her hand vigorously stopping him. She signalled to him that she will come and even before he could refuse, she was already crossing the road. Lucian's smile stretched as she walk closer towards him but soon he heard his heart ripping out of his chest as he heard the loud horn of a truck coming towards Livie. Until Livie realised it, the truck was too close to her and all she could do was close her eyes and wait for the worst to happen.

"LIVIE!!!"
