Having already memorized these strokes, Minos walked around for a bit before finding a stick about the size of a brush, before then heading to a soft piece of land behind his hut he could write on.
While it would naturally be best to use regular paper and brush, he would have to use contribution points to buy them, which was a complete scam.
Otherwise he could head to the nearest mortal settlement, but that would be a multiple day journey, and even then he has no mortal money on him either, hence it would be a pointless trip.
At the current moment, this was the best he could do, hence he squatted over, gripping the stick, before leaving a stroke on the mud in front of him.
Minos closed his eyes and compared the stroke he had memorized in his head to the one he had just drawn and noticed they were completely different.
The "Nux Gathering" stroke in the book was fluid, shaped like an S, but Minos's was far more jagged, more like a Z.
Naturally this did nothing to slow him down. Making use of the last few remaining hours of light, he repeatedly scribbled the stroke down, over and over.
It was only once his arm went numb that Minos stopped. At this point the strokes in the book and mud looked strikingly similar, leaving Minos quite satisfied. Of course he had no idea how effective it would be until he actually attempted it on a talisman paper.
He was slightly curious as to why he needed talisman paper, and he couldn't just write the strokes on anything, but unfortunately the book gave no explanation to this.
In fact he wanted to know why he needed any of the tools, why couldn't he just use mortal objects? Of course at the moment Minos would receive no answers, hence he threw these thoughts to the back of his head, dragging his exhausted body back to his hut to call it a night.
Minos woke up lazily the next day. Fortunately for him it was another break-day today, so he spent an extra hour in bed, letting his body heal completely.
After letting out a loud yawn, he threw on his robes and headed out. He was planning on heading to the outer disciple bazaar again, to see how much the tools he needed cost.
It didn't take long to get his answer. The talisman brush cost 10 contribution points, the beast ink 20, and the talisman paper cost 1 point for every piece.
With the 8 points Minos had in pocket at the moment, he had to work for another month before he could get everything he needed.
Fortunately the talisman brush could last a long time, and the beast ink could be used for around 20 low-level talisman papers, hence as long as he got everything, he should be set for a while.
Of course Minos wasn't happy at the idea of wasting another month, but he had no other choice. Besides, he needed time to master the strokes he had learnt, and to fully comprehend all the knowledge he had absorbed for the "Talisman Foundation" book, so it wasn't a complete waste of time.
But while Minos was content spending this time in peace, Gantel had other ideas. He still hadn't forgotten the stunt Minos had pulled last time, hence when Minos came back from the outer disciple bazaar, he was stopped again.
"Kid, today is your break day, isn't it? Wouldn't it be a waste to spend such a beautiful day in the sect. Common, me and my buddies are heading down to the pond come join us." Gantel spoke.
"No thanks, you're already ugly enough as is. I'd rather not see you shirtless." Minos said as he looked at his face with a slight frown, as if disgusted.
Even as dumb as Gantel was, he could easily understand that insult. Minos could almost see the red fumes coming off his head.
"You little bastard, the handyman disciple competition is coming up in a month. You can hide now, but once you're up on that stage, I'm going to make your life a living hell. I can't wait."
Gantel and his goons started to laugh after he said that, before walking off together. Minos's brow slightly furrowed, but he wasn't too worried. A month should be enough time for him to gather his first trump card.
